So, the girl was 16 (age of consent is 16 for girls) and the AFL believes they did not meet her at a school clinic.
It completely changes the context of the story now.
Maybe the focus could now, instead of solely on the actions of the AFL players involved, could be on parents who allow their 16 year old daughter to go to nightclubs and put herself in a position for this to happen.

The AFL footballers, while stupid, are the easy target and good for headlines...
