20 goals 2 behinds in the last quarter of Sturt/North 19s

Anything to do with the history of the SANFL

Spelly's right, it was pretty standard - he didn't even bring out his A-game for this one.

Well that's a plus, I suppose. :)

I'm going to do some high scoring quarter stats combined from the Reserves, 19s and 17s. Keep in mind that they are mostly matches from 1998-2001 and 2006 and last year, along with the Reserves from 2005. The newspaper(s) only had selected quarter scores in between (very few).

I'll have them up tomorrow night, but that 122 points is the record for the games I have.

To tell you the truth, I don't particularly like my username, nor stats_check.

But everyone knows me by that name, so I guess I'll have to keep it.

Not quite the gravity of spelly's U/19s fact, but I thought I'd rebirth this thread as this is interesting nonetheless.

Yesterday in the U/17s at Woodville, the Eagles (who had 5.8 to 3QT) kicked 8.5 in the last quarter, with Norwood kicking 7.0 and ultimately won by a few goals. There was 19 goals kicked to 3QT and then 15.5 kicked in the last ... a quarter which lasted 36 minutes and 30 seconds.

Does West Adelaide's effort on Sat count?

3 goals to 3/4 time

7 goals in the last???

Taking into account only final scores of 70 or more, the final quarter of 7.4 (46) is the equal 9th highest percentage of score made in the final quarter. 46 points is 63.89% of the total points, 72. South Adelaide were on the same score at both 3 quarter time and full time in Round 9 1932.

Even going back to 1972, it still is the record for the Under 19 competition. The next highest was in this match:

Round 9 1986
West 7.3 9.7 19.9 24.14 (158)
Glenelg 5.3 9.6 18.6 19.9 (123)

19.2 (116) was scored in the third quarter.
