So he claims, but others don't suggest this was the case ... Even Fev admitted he should have shown further self restraint.
I like the bloke, and everyone makes mistakes (especially on the slops) so hopefully this all blows over quickly, but I don't think his behaviour can be justified on this one.

don't think it will just blow over CP. i think the AFL will have something to say on it. wouldn't surprise me if they suspend him for a couple of pre season games, just to make their point

There's nothing "political" about this. It is a legal matter, and instead of Fevola being annoyed by the AFL for sending him home, he should be grateful to them for getting him out od the country as quickly as they did.
This isn't just about an AFL player fighting someone in a backstreets Melbourne night spot, it's about an Australian tourist with an Australian passport whose chose to contrevene the terms of his passport. The AFL have handled this in a very professional manner, and Fevola will escape a potentially nasty situation.
