I'd certainly agree with Pagan here, they'd be much better off going for Gumbleton or Hansen, because chances are they'd get a shot at someone like Hurley for their second pick. They'll get 3 picks before 14 of the other clubs get their 2nd, so the odds are they'll be able to stock up with midfielders with their 2nd and 3rd pick.
Gibbs will probably be a star in the AFL, but i dont think he can shape the Carlton side in the next 5/10 years like Gumbleton could. With Murphy, Walker and Stevens, they arguably have their midfield covered for at least the next 5 to 7 years. Apart from Fevola, the Blues really have no other (genuine) tall forward options, except for maybe Whitnall, and he plays his best footy at CHB these days.
I think Kernahan is blinkered by his Glenelg past.
