Hinkley will speak publicly in a radio interview on Adelaide radio station FiveAA at 4.30pm ACST.

The Bedge wrote:Probably a stupid question, but if Hinkley goes to GC - will they have to pay Port his remaining year on his contract?

No
Cheers... But if Port sign Hinkley for another couple seasons then sack him end of 2018 they would still have to pay out his contract?

The more information being, "will Hinkley take the job? Will I be able to coach a club that's in a far better position?"
Interesting questions.

I'm guessing this will rate highly for AA.

You wonder if him being there will put a few potential applicants off.

Id say there is about a 10% chance of the interview going ahead, unless he re-signs with Port today.

Correct. If he walks no pay, if he is pushed out in contract, club pays.

Definitely serious
Why would Hinkley stay at a club whose chairman publicly undermines him and his selection policies minutes after a heartbreaking loss.
For a man who prides himself on his business acumen trusts either mindblowingly stupid, or maybe it was designed to push him out?

Unfortunately for Koch he's so passionate any of his reasoned thinking goes out the window and the boy from Largs with Port Adelaide in his veins takes over.

Correct. If he walks no pay, if he is pushed out in contract, club pays.
In that case, thinking long term - would Port be asking themselves if it's worth the gamble of locking him in until 2020 and potentially facing paying him out if he doesn't last? Do they think he's the guy to go one another 3+ seasons?
If the answer is no, then I reckon they let him walk and invest in getting Dew.
