Have heard they are doing lots of weight training as well.
Lots of weight training is not a good thing. Less is more when it comes to the weights.

So what was the purpose of Kilburn recieving a Government grant to build the largest weights room for an Amateur level club in the southern hemisphere?Andy #24 wrote:Lots of weight training is not a good thing. Less is more when it comes to the weights.

Surely strength training through weights is a basic requirement for even A1 clubs...

People get carried away when they start weight training. People who have lifted for years only lift two or three times a week, especially if they're training hard at other stuff. Without proper instruction some guys start doing silly stuff out of bodybuilding magazines.
We may have a great weights room and we do have a guy who knows what he is doing helping people out but it's still not being used properly. Most guys just rock up and do a few sets of bicep curls and bench presses when they feel like it.
