Started off nicely. But I forgot despite it being short there are certain places you need to be deadly accurate... which wasn't my forte yesterday. Was a little boggy In patches which is to be expected. And being wet certainly did make the course longer.
Back up there in a few weeks.
Despite only being a par 67, IMO it’s got the best layout for a public course going around.

Cataract Surgery.

Had a retina re-attachment in January, in my left eye. Surgeon advised this would speed up the development of Cataracts. He was spot on. Can't see all that much out of the left one. Actually feel a bit like I shouldn't be driving.

Going in for left eye in 3 weeks, and they will do the right eye 2 days later.

No more Dirk Wellam quips when I walk out to bat. No Goggles anymore.

I might be surprised what I will be able to actually see in a few weeks time!

I had a bet with bulldogproud - Glenelg to finish 3 or more positions on the ladder higher than Centrals, loser to buy a 2024 membership to the winner’s club. If Centrals beat Sturt, I’m buying a CDFC membership next year. If CD lose, Glenelg still have to win the flag for me to win the bet.

Nothin’ wrong with the Texas Wedge.

We were outplayed for a lot of the first half, to go in even at halftime was really important. That third qtr was some of the best we’ve played all year. Winning the contested ball, relentless pressure - stuff that wins finals. The week off is welcome. Snook & Shaz got plenty of it, Cam was great in ruck, Bell played one of his best games, McBean starred after the main break & the skipper along with Pink & Newman were at their stingy best.

A pepper steak pie from Tumby Bay Bakery.
Stopped in at Kimba back in 2022 at the Big Galah Cafe and they get them in from Tumby. I said to the missus that it was the best pie I’ve ever had. Even eclipsing the one I had at Stone Hut circa 2006. She scoffed at me. On the weekend we headed over to Streaky Bay & stopped at Kimba again for lunch. Still selling Tumby Bay pies - and again, the best pie I’ve ever had.
