Hmm it's got some very wide wings i think - length ways down the middle it's a pretty standard size though.
That was my take on it, I thought it was quite short coast to coast but wide, I used to love playing there, always had atmosphere, especially dobbing goals in the last at the club end and getting appreciation from the locals after a few bevvies.

Re: Things that give you the sh1ts

Question - how many of you drank underage, drove whilst drunk, sped or hooned in your car, engaged in somewhat risky sexual behaviour, shoplifted, cheated on a test, forged your mothers signature, lied, or did drugs when you were a teenager?

I like to think I have pretty decent parents and I still did all of those things except doing drugs even though I knew it was wrong to do them.

Parenting can't be all of the answer, and people saying teenagers shouldn't be so stupid are downright hypocrites - teenagers are stupid full stop!

The big change is the ease at which this stuff can be spread around before smartphones the damage of doing some of this stupid stuff was limited to maybe your friendship group and some whispers around the school. Now it is everywhere on everyone's phones and the laws haven't quite caught up yet.
Well I have bent the speed limits, and once at 14 I forged a letter from my father authorising a chemical supplies company to sell me concentrated Sulphuric and Nitric acids - so that I had the ingredients to make trinitro-cellulose (guncotton).

However I didn't do any of the other things on the list.
(The sex in my later teens was very careful - avoiding any unnecessary risks.)

Did you ever take the Bentley out without polishing the hubcaps?

Re: The last little one..round 13ish

Buddy unlucky IMHO, I thought the rules said you could bump a bloke within 5 metres of the ball? Impact was on the chest.
Can you not shepherd or bump anymore? I want my game back!
Baffling.
The players association are the ones to blame, I too seen nothing wrong with it but the rules now state that you can't run past the ball and bump, especially if you make high contact, there was a small amount of upper arm that made contact with Edwards' head, that was the clincher.

Our game is becoming far too sanitised.

This year my mate who i used to have season tickets with moved overseas, so I dont have a membership. But I have still only missed one home game this year due to different people offering me free tickets etc.

Re: Phil Walsh murdered

They'd have to at least delay this Sundays game. The actual footy seems pretty irrrlevent atm.

I worry about the AFL surely they wouldn't stoop so low as to try and get the game to be played for their own reasons

Just call this weekends games off already and decide over the next few days about next weeks game

It's only grown men playing a game with a ball
That's a bit full on there mate, it's a tragedy for sure but the AFLPA will make the call no doubt after assessing the well being of the players.
It happens at grass root level, I'm sure Phil would want the show to go on.

I mean that in the least disrespectful way possible, I am deeply shocked and very saddened.

Re: Phil Walsh murdered

Too many corporate $$$ to be called off if whole round is called off
Do you honestly think there would be ANYONE in this country today who would kick up a stink if they did?

If someone passes away just generally, would they cancel the whole round? Death is a part of life, million $$$ industries don't get put on hold just because this particular passing occurred with malicious intent. The crows Geelong game should be called a no contest, share the points with respect to Phil Walsh. Vale
It's more the circumstances around this death that makes it so unique to others.
Death is death, it's horrific and final at any level and in any circumstance.

I'm a believer in celebrating people's lives opposed to mourning their passing, although there is no time to put something together to honour Phil this week I'm sure it would hold greater significance for everyone in the inner sanctum to get out there and show some Phil Walsh spirit.

I can fully understand if the Crows match or the whole round doesn't go ahead, I believe that it will though.

This is very hard to digest, you just don't wake up hearing this shit too often.

I know it is on a smaller scale, but when I bought my house 7 years ago, we settled and in the meantime when the dude was moving out the $300 letterbox happened to go missing and was replaced with a crappy $50 one.

Even though I dont think it was originally in the contract, we thought that something like that would be expected to stay, and we managed to get a $300 cheque out of them.

And we still havent replaced the letterbox :D

I am not terribly fussed that Schulz got off either, maybe you should think back to when Gray was tackled... Fair few tears from port supporters than but I question the issue with the rule and I am one eyed. Rightio
I think neither should have got games but the Gibbs tackle looked a hell of a lot worse than the Schulz one, you can't untackle someone while you are both falling to the ground sideways.

He's a 19 yr old, with career earnings over $1.2m, not to mention endorsement deals. He has not been an overnight sensation...he probably has been one of the best in his age group since he was 5. He would of had a lifetime of people telling him how good he is. He is a product of his environment. Give him a break and let him work out what works for him and what doesn't. I am pretty sure the opinion of everyday Aussies is not going to sway him one bit.

Yeah that too. I just read it like that rather than a double header at a single ground.

On that though, I assume the women's BBL will be curtain raisers?

Yeah, apparently so. The women's comp is really taking off, having experienced first hand how much is going into the foundations of women's cricket is really cementing the future.

A few years back I played a game where we won the toss and batted, the captain decided to elevate himself to first drop, the regular first dropped off seen him padding up and said "You batting at 4 mate"
"Na, 3, you can go down a spot"
The dude was pretty pissed but the captain thought he was doing him a favour though.

"Oh well, it's only an extra ball I'll have to wait" the lad replied.

Funny enough, the skipper got a goldie.

I saw him send a Greenacres player off for accidentally stepping on his foot. Then gave him a red card when the player laughed and said "you've got to be joking"
It does piss you off when you keep getting banged into when you step back after the ball up, first or second time I make a joke like "Umpire contact, 2 beer fine", any more than that I start to lose my shit and pay free's, I know it isn't intentional but some players use you as a shield and I know how to determine who's at fault.
