apparently the decision was made due to the fact that we had forfeited too many games, which is understandable.

granted the first 4 weeks were forfeited due to lack of numbers however we then built up to have 25 against Payenham and only forfeited on Saturday due to a few injuries and a group of players that ate out and picked up a stomache bug... definately not due to players 'walking out on the club... cos that's what normally happens to Ovingham' which is the quote i heard about...

Also sorry to hear that but work towards getting things back on track from now for next year. Be interested now to see if the SAAFL re do the draw to get rid of the bye seeing now down to 8 sides or would that be too hard at this time of the season

well in a turn of events we have had the decision postponed. Dave (pres) has detailed an email with our sponsorship, membership andprogression as a club and we have been allowed to continue.

obviously there will be strict rules and regulations and should we fold again i would suggest it would be curtains for sure.

i hope we can maintain what was started a couple of weeks ago and continue to get blokes out and become a little more competetitive towards the end of the season then give ourselves a foundation to build on for next year...
I am not talking to you for 3 minutes because you punched me in the head and it hurt and that was not okay for you to do

I hope this doesn't come back and bite Dave & you on the bum!
Plenty out there waiting for the "extinct" button to be pushed so be prepared for the wrath of Khan and probably FE as well if you have to pull out of another game.
You're on a hiding to nothing now, very brave move but ...........unsure what to think

I dont think Ovies should or could care one iota about what FE thinks or incurring the wrath of khan, their trying to save their club.

No argument with that Beefy, it just happens to be my old club many moons ago, so I'm not wishing anything but good for them, just the thought of one game on, one game off every so often will only lead to further discontent from those clubs affected, FE's club being one of them. I'm not that naive to think anything otherwise knowing most of the past history of the Ovingham Football Club and what's transpired there in more recent years.

Well Ovingham came back and played yesterday against Gepps Cross, as a result Gepps had a win by over 220 points I believe it was, what a farce, only last week Broadies were supposed to play them (Ovingham) but they forfieted and it ended up a 10 goal to nothing win, now i aint real smart with maths but i would think a 220 point plus win would be a hell of a lot more percentage than a 10 goal to nil win, by the end of the year this could decide finals placings all over the shop. Lets get it worked out SAAFL

Agree with locky801 and Dark Knight. Our C Grade is in top spot at the moment but approx 15% behind 2nd-5th place who have had big wins against Ovies. The players were very p*ssed off when they found out about the forfeit. The league need to do something either fold them or award the rest of teams who only got 10 goal wins the same average margin that everyone else got in thier big wins.

As usual just another farce from the Colonel Klinks office at the Bunker

Let that be a lesson to you, Port Adelaide Sturt. & Norwood You don't beat Glenelg in Grand Finals and get away with it.

Gepps and Goodies are the only ones in the 5 to have played Ovingham, we (Districts) are probably in a worse predicament than you blokes as we are 5th and lack the percentage of Gepps and Goodies, so if Ovies do eventually fold the league will turn it into a top 4 meaning one of us has to miss out. You blokes are travelling pretty good so if you can keep winning there shouldn't be a problem, however if you drop a few games it might mean the difference between a home final. At the end of the day I don't think the Amateur league can do much about it unless Ovies fold altogether, than they might adjust scores and give everyone a 10 goal win
