Great win by the Tigers on Sat, i think Henley wasted too many easy shots infront of goal, but when the game was up for the taking, our boys looked a lot hungrier. Great effort by the backline to nulify their fairly potent forward line and Stevo up forward was sensational for us. Hope that builds some confidence, shouldn't have lost to Gaza last week. Crowd was great and i know where we were on the outer scoreboard side it was bloody loud nearing the end of the game. Exciting stuff.

I learnt a long time ago TT, always tell it how it is! Credit where credit is due and it was certainly warranted. I overlooked the umpires performance which was FIRST CLASS, Bailsy & Braunack did a great job and MB is a far better umpire when not accompanied by last year's "Golden Shower" winner.
BTW TT, it's a polo shirt and is very classy, makes you look somewhat taller and has no influence on the performance of the Valley boys whatsoever, nice try! ;)

whole game was first class. both teams having a real crack, umpires not noticed [GOOD ] crowd [ which was good ] involved and ideal conditions [ for us spectators ] would have been a tad tiring for the players and umps as it was played at a great pace.
well done to both teams [ and the umps ]
Ace , the "bloodnut" in the backlines looks a bit 'raw' but could come on nicely in time

Ah yes, Jed has been content to play C grade for the last couple of years but certainly has the idea and talent to play at A grade level, fairly tough and "hard at the ball and opposition", an obvious prerequisite. Coming along nicely!

Was in Adelaide on the weekend and thought I would tale in a footy match or 2. Never seen Goodies before so went and watched the Goody Saints V Pt Dist match on Satdy and was very impressed with the home team. Well coached and just a well drilled team. Can see why they have won several premierships in a row - 5 I think someone said.
A highlight was their preparedness to run and when they went fwd it was in waves and their skill level was superior to that of Districts in terms of holding marks and less fumbling under pressure. Too many goalscoring options and were prepared to use all of them. Recognised quite a few names with SANFL and AFL experience. Impressed with Bartel, Klemm, Hamblin and where do I stop.
Having said that Districts were all over them in the 1st 1/4 and finished the game off well also but the 3rd 1/4 was their undoing. But were competitive with them for a fair while. Class shone thru overall however. Impressed with Sampson and Prior and their ruckman can leap. Defence looked solid except for that 3rd 1/4 when the floodgates opened.
Really nice setting for a game of footy. But one comment on the oval - why don't they mark the 50m line in the right spot cos that definately aint 50m and that could be confusing to some new opposition players

Its a 40m line at Goodies, unfortunately because of the length of the oval if they marked a 50m line it would cut through half of the centre square. Most sides who have played there over the years are aware of the distance. I reckon also it makes players feel special when they can bomb one from outside the arch, gives the feeling you can kick like Ben Graham!!!

alot of the smaller ovals still have the arc but it would only be 35-40m, your right stickers, blokes would love running in thinking there bombing one from 50+ when really it is only just 50m

Broadies V Gepps should be just like old times eh! Close enough not to call.
Plenty of friendly banter, the occasional sledge but in the bar after having a beer as we all should.
