Cable Broadband Options

Postby wooly » Thu Apr 29, 2010 9:41 am

There must be a better cable broadband deal out there somewhere?

I currently have Cable Broadband with Telstra and pay $59-95 a month for 12gig. I've had it for years and have never had any issues with speed, drop-outs etc.

But I need more than 12 gig. This may be a dumb question but is there anyone else who provides a cable service other than Telstra? I could go ADSL but as I said I have never had any issues with cable and don't really want to change if it's going to slow me down or start causing drop-outs.

i think maybe optus offer it, but it depends on who you're cable is owned by

you'll have to check

unfortunately cable is great for good speeds, but its expensive to have/maintain for any provider, thats why only telstra, and maybe optus, offer it.

For $59.95 you can get ADSL2+ and have 5x the data

60gb with internode
or
60gb (30+30) with adam for $55

im with adam and find their service excellent

Just left Bigpond and signed up with Adam 60gb for $55 + $50 for modem (2yr contract)
To find out what they can offer give em a call.
Also had Optus at a previous residence and had no problem with them.

If you are with BigPond be prepared to be without your internet for 5 to 10 working days to switch over to new provider

I had 10 gig for years as that was the original plan, but Telstra increased that to 12 a couple of years back but didn't increase existing customers.

Just ring them and they will bump you up to 12.... every little bit helps.
