at the club for 3 years and 2 time leading A-grade goalkicker, and may have added a third to that list if he wasn't overseas half of last year.[/quote]

I would say ed is a good player, not as good as some of the other forwards, ralston, fraser etc but still very handy, some of the best hands ive seen for a while!

both were held very quiet on the day, white kicked 4 i think but was otherwise shut down by nick martin and peddler was also held to just a few marks by his brad finney. Smoshes White played really well and is another one of smosh's 2nd or 3rd teir players that just do their job every week. we call him concrete at training cos hes rock solid, and is the foundation under which some of the stars at the club build their game. and yes smosh finished the game well on saturday and got a good result without standout performances from their stars(fraser, porplysia, ed williams), and with key players like ralston running water.

sam white a 2nd or 3rd tier player???
the bloke won the b & f the other year, thats almost an insult to him, he is a key player in your side.
Smosh are so good cause they have so many contributors and thats what makes a successful side.
The position of the B grade does have a bit to do with how the A's go but not always!

LOL, led a merry dance Portland Boys!

FYI, white (iggies) kicked 3 junk times goals in the last quarter and his much maligned opponent was in our best players :D

Pedler did some nice, classy things, but was moved to CHB in the 3rd quarter when the game was gettin away from them.

Ed williams will always be a star.

Ralo is running water because he doesn't know how to ride a bicycle. Unco bastard.

i agree 100% fisty. a good b-grade team doesnt always mean a good a-grade side. but what it does show is a clubs depth, and depth complimented with a few standout players is the recipe for success at this level. teams who have won this division in the past few years have also had success in the B's and even C's and i dont think that it is a coincidence.

Agree Chram, our depth is very questionable. It was last year too. Hence our ladder position.

And you know this how ? Load of cr@p DD, if he didnt want to be there, he wouldnt be. Trust me.

He resigned at the start of the year, common knowledge, the club wouldnt "accept it", once again common knowledge!

For your information, it was the end of last year and he didnt resign, he just questioned whether he could put in the time required due to family and work commitments - the very reason i chucked my role in. He has since changed jobs, so the travel he used to do frequently is no longer an issue. If by body language, you mean disappointed in losing, well then yes, you are right. He doesnt like losing, but who does.

I know first hand how much time and effort he puts in to the job, so take your cr@p elsewhere DD - you know sweet FA !!!

heard it from the horses mouth princess
Dudley "Booger" Dawson: Did you get in her pants?
Gilbert Lowe: She's not that kind of a girl, Booger.
Dudley "Booger" Dawson: Why, does she have a penis?

HH back a few pages u were complaining about the state of Dolphin park. Agree isnt in the best condition but its not through lack of preparation. The clipsal absolutely kill it! We do everything we can to try and get it up2 scratch. We had a new irrigation system put in this year and we are hoping by next season we can really see the benefits of this investment. The club and school put a lot of effort and resources in2 gettin it up2 scratch. Sometimes u just have to play the cards u are dealt.

Out of interest has any1 played on dolphin park 5-10 years ago?

IMO, its no better or worse than the other parkland grounds, at least CBC Oval has a bit of atmosphere about it.

Yep, nearly fell down the stairs and our full forward did his knee on the wire fence behind the city end goals.

Great day

I agree. It was disastrous and looking like it was an injury waiting to happen !!
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

On Clipsal weekend, i couldnt even walk properly on it. I had to drink about a dozen cans of bourbon and cola just to get me across it... ;)

I found this great quote from you, back in 2008 on the D4 thread -

Portland are the most under achieved club ever to play in the Amature League
Watched them the other week against Nth haven and sorry felch their A grade side is crap
I agree with playing kids and developing the club but find some kids who can play, and maybe a coach who has some idea on what to do in a match winning situation, mind you their coaching appointments have never been great,
Russell Evans - Too good to coach A4 footy
Brenton Klabe - sacked after 3 games
Gavin Crack - Won a flag in a 2 sided competition
Greaham McInerney - Crap
Paul Marshall - great player, couldnt coach
Darren Hams - why did PAMFC get rid of him?
Current Coach - Crap
This club will be in A7 before to long

You know your stuff obviously...

I remember watching that game against North Haven. Haven's CHB kept "star" player Coppins to 3 kicks and then kicked 3 goals in the last quarter to win the game.

Seriously though, when Coppo and Hinsley talk to each other you need subtitles to understand what is going on.
