The best football I have seen us play since our solid Div 7 year was against eventual premier Hectorville at Hectorville. we were up by 4 goals at 3/4 quarter time and with a little bit more fitness would have in all likelihood knocked them off.
That team is as follows;
4 Dowsett, Adam - gone back to Happy Valley
24 Eblen, Peter - no idea, but gone
71 Ellingham, Morgan - torn ACL out for year, also secured lucrative male modelling contract
11 Emmerson, Matthew - retired
13 Gelven, Damien - playing
18 Hay, Adam - retired
12 Kulmer, Shane - retired
3 Leck, Joseph - playing
5 Logan, Steven - playing
6 Mahar, Michael - gone back to Happy Valley
16 Marchese, David - army duties
1 Mcdonnell, Luke - playing
9 Mcdonnell, Nathaniel - playing, under duress
15 Newton, Lukas - working Saturdays
14 Potuszynski, Troy - gone back to Happy Valley
21 Rowbottom, Leigh - moved to Victoria
8 Schutte, Ryan - Tailem Bend I think
2 Steele, Bradley - playing, sort of
17 Varnas, Casey - gone back to Happy Valley
20 Viscione, Reno - playing
7 Walsh, Andrew - semi-retired
+ Damien Bates - Murrayville
+ Craig Rivett - retired
+ Chris Rogers - retired
No excuses, we are no match for anyone in D6 at the moment. We need to rebuild under Colin and start again.
Oddly enough I think the club is heading in the right direction and I have the utmost faith in all the people involved in the club being able to turn things around.
I will say that the vast majority of the the players no longer playing for us would have no ill feelings towards the club nor the people involved in it. In fact, I have seen most of them out at the odd home game providing their support.
There is nothing sinister going down at Parkies, just struggling to recruit and hold on to talented footballers. Of which much of the blame could be attributed to our unwarranted "thuggish" reputation.

I didn't see too much aggression, although I did hear one of our players got knocked on his bum after a bit of push and shove. #16 was being a bit of a knob and a couple of our blokes acting like school children but other than that I thought the game was played in ok spirits.Quichey wrote:Yep sounds good. No doubt we'll have another fiery encounter, both games in 2007 were pretty heated too!
I was on the committee that made that decision so I will take all the credit.Dad's Jokes wrote:At least Mitchel Park took the opportunity to go up a division back in 2008......unlike Henley.....
Although things look bad on the scoreboard now, the exposure to div 6 footy, rather than staying down in div 7, will pay dividends to the players in the long run.
