Round 9 Trades

Postby Q. » Mon May 17, 2010 7:51 pm

Cash cow culling time again. In recent rounds the focus has mostly been on cashing in midfield rookies who may have jumped the shark, but with two defenders on the bubble this week it looks like we have an interesting decision to make.

Sheppard (WCE) - $149,200
Webberley (RIC) - $94,200

Webberley will be the choice for most given you'll get a bit more cash back in your pocket. His skills are reportedly very clean, something that ain't such a feature within the Richmond team, so I think he'll play a number of games this year. Sheppard may be a little bit more expensive, but his score of 87 on the weekend shows he is capable of being an adequate D7 if need be.

Next you gotta think about who you'll trade in. IMO, Silvagni has peaked, there might still be more cash left to squeeze out of Nason.

Thoughts?

Pondering about whether to trade out Silvagni actually, but also have a decision to make on Gram in the backlines also. Also well and truly the time to make the call on Tippett now.
Can you guess where I'm calling from, the Las Vegas Hilton...

I watched the Hawks v Tigers game on Sunday, I don't know if many did, but I would be worried about picking up Webberley. Godd gutsy player but took a Lewis type hit that I think will affect him for weeks ala ROK.
He was on another planet for quite some time!

I've got Masten on the bench with a long term injury at the moment. Ideally I would like to downgrade him for a rookie to free up some cash to **** of my mates Vince or Tippett, but a like trade would be acceptable if absolutely necessary. Masten is sitting on about $280k at the moment.

Any good midfield rookies on the bubble at the moment?

Tony Armstrong, but I think you'd be rather reluctant to pick up another Crow

Gary Rohan would be the only other one to consider at the moment.

**** I hope Shuey gets up this week. Otherwise I wear a donut as this week is a non trading week. Darcy will beat me by about 150 this week I reckon.

I'll be unloading Trengove this week. I reckon he's gone up as high as he's going to go, and has a break even of 70 this week. Been very handy though.

I was going to bring in Swan but Judd is only $30K more so I think I will splurge on him

Trengove has dropped $16K from last week so it's time to go!

Was annoyed, but a little bit expected it, too get rid of Hall and he fires and pav not do a great deal. But happy with young Hughes on the pine if he continues to get games could be very useful.

No changes for me this week but I do think young Gray i on his last legs and Dawesmlooks on the way up?

Be wary of Dawes, his job security isn't good enough for an F6/7.

Ideally I'd love to get daisy in my side at 382,600 but I've got 20k in the bank and think I should try get rid of Gray as he's gonna dive in price this week.

Gray is about 325k and I have a couple I could swindle out of my side but wondering if anyones got any good thoughts without doing a double trade?

What number of trades are people still sitting on (are you allowed to ask that question)?

IIRC Im on around 14 - Too many, too little, or about right for this time of year?

im sitting on 12 atm, ideally you would like to be sitting on 4-5ish heading into finals but idealistic situations never eventuate. 14 is a good number to have though imo

I'm on 13 at the moment and have a reasonably solid team with only a couple of passengers at this stage, so pretty happy.
