Podcast night a huge success - not!!!!

Postby marto » Fri May 14, 2010 9:02 pm

You can tell that people are interested in the Podcast crap that our illustrious CEO has brought in this year to replace a perfectly good show in Grassroots at substantial cost to a Sponsor and we just dont know how much to the League and the Clubs just yet do we? - but the big launch was an absolute fizzer with 6 turning up out of the possisble 67 Clubs. Lots of people are interested when 6 out of 67 Clubs and a handful of invited guests turn up. Guessing that would make about 6 an a few guests out of 90 or so. Just bring back the Grassroots show before this madness continues.

Yes - 6 turned up for this Gala Event from the 67 Clubs and a few Invited Guests. Who is left with egg on their face now

In the eyes of some this may well be "prime time", but in the eyes of the majority it's a "waste of time!"

Waste of time, effort and money. Just bring back the Grassrooters before this madness continues. FC, Tommy and Dutchy maybe some new talent for some fun and a few other who know what the hell is going on in Amateur Footy and not a pair of blokes who have everything written for them on cue cards, cant get the names right and wondered last week if Mawson Lakes was a new side recently. FFS.

Just great to know both the Clubs money and the Sponsors Money is being used wisely    Other than the twice I have seen it, does anyone else know of anyone who has watched the Podcast - sure as hell I don't

I would rather watch a podcast of the above names, simply because they know amateur footy and give good representation of all divisions.

It's not the format that's the current problem, it's the content!

Have just considered your opinion Quichey and agree to some extent although I still prefer the TV version as does everyone else I am guessing judging purely on people who have not even heard of the Podcast. The guys have complained at the club however about not watching the Grassrooters on a Thursday night when eating their Parmy Sniiterz, having an ale and playing Cards. The bit I agree with is most certainly the people who present the programme. With that you are 101% correct.

Here's the rub for all you doubters of a show like the Amateur Footy Show. I am involved in the Great Southern League and we would love to have a show that showcases our League and its players. What a wonderful concept to let EVERYBODY have the opportunity to catch up on the Amateur League - and to have hosts with the profile of Ken Cunningham & Phil Smyth. The guests have been interesting and would have thought that is what people want - preview/reviews etc are available everywhere but to actually be able to logon ANY time of the day, watch any episode I want to, send the link to all my old team-mates wherever they are in the world and let them see how their old club is going is fantastic - the way of the future, not some community channel with a restricted viewing capacity. So here's your tip - buy a $10 cable from Dick Smith, plug from your laptop to your plasma and watch it on the big screen at your club -whenever you want to! Sound good? Stop whingeing, and be lucky your competition gets recognised because mine doesn't. And who cares if KG & Phil don't know every player/team in the comp - it's about recognition and the interesting interviews - like finding out where ex AFL/SANFL stars coach.

Bollocks. You're involved in the Great Southern Football League and yet your profile credits you with 28 posts of which all are on the SAAFL pages or more specifically Div 3 SAAFL. I don't suppose you have two d*cks as well.

Did not know Shadiac or Porter got on here!!!!!!!!!! - Was talking to our kids today at our game and no one even knows of a podcast and they just laughed. kids and young players have better things to do with there time than watching podcasts. All I know is that our club wont be paying for it anymore once November comes around and the clowns cant spend our money on the media on crap products. get back to the southern league that you dont even come from and dribble your crap

Well, I'm in the office, working again on a Sunday, and listening to the podcast

A couple of responses:

1. The clubs aren't paying for the podcast (how many times do I have to say that  )
2. Did you ask if the kids if they ever watched Grassroots or Simply Footy? They were/are costing us money.
3. If you really want to have a go at something, look at:

a) Simply Footy = $$$$$$$$ and no possibility of a return to the League whereas the deal with AustraliaLiveTV has that potential

b) Footy News with all its errors, and now, we have the story about Portland and their coach which was, allegedly, a complete fabrication and the Media Manager and League have to issue an apology
