According to a very reliable source from Cove the section that they were going to be put in was the only sticking point last year when negotiations were on with the ASCA. Last year they were told they would start in section 2, so they decided to stay in SCA and win another flag... evidence then became pretty compelling as to why they would start in section 1!!

A very professional cricket club that are in the business of winning flags, very succesful, but unlike some clubs that i know of, they arent cocky **** heads. will be remembered for thier premierships and not for being big headed wankers!

I would say that spells they end for SCA, and we may now see another club coming across this year also, or an influx of a few clubs next season. When i was down there 10 or 12 years ago the comp was very strong, with very good players in it, but it seems that the comp has been badly managed lately.

Nearly makes you appreciate the dulcet drones of Phil Davis and co... nearly.

Firstly welcome Hallett Cove if true but honestly hope the lads dont think section 1 is going to be as easy as southern . I personally think they will be a mid range team . Alot depends on if they keep Michael Thomas and if some of the older blokes go around again but good luck anyway are you looking for a disabled number 4 that cant field

So having just 12 lads in A grade and struggle to field a B grade side is enougth to field in ASCA???

I dont think there is even a ruling that says if your in section one that you need to field a B Grade team in any other section at all, perhaps someone could correct me, it would just be bloody hard to be a section one side without any lower grades.

I'd rather field one side in ASCA than stick a team in every grade in a labouring/dead comp like SCA.

Sure would be and i can't see a reason why it shouldn't be allowed.

We have a few clubs who only have the one side and it doesn't seem to be an issue.

As a player in the ASCA i really hope sides such as Noarlunga and Cove come into our comp. yes its a bit of a drive to add to the drive to ICC, sheidow and Coro x 2, but really, if it ends up our comp is stronger because of it, im all for it.

And i would love to see Michael Thomas play against his old mob in Morphy Parks. I could only imagine the mob on the boundary line giving him carp.

I beleive there is an executive meeting tonight with 6 pages of agenda up for discussion, including Cove requesting to come into our comp.

This begs the question, if Cove come into the comp, who will go to divvy 1? If westminster go, theres the spot, if they dont, maybe there still a chance to go down, or will the association make a real stance and put South Road down after finishing bottom because of the 6 points they lost for not attending 3 meetings last year!

Meeting went well, but bloody late, and yes Cove were on the Agenda as they have been liasing with our association for approx 8 weeks. They will have a representative at the next executive meeting and we will be discussing how they will join our comp not if they will join our comp.
