Crows and rubbish

Postby prowling panther » Sat May 15, 2010 8:43 pm

I'll admit that I watch the Panthers play each week and watch mediocre play most of the time, however the garbage the crows are giving us at the moment is enough to make one puke. If the brains at Adelaide think that Craig is going to take the crows to any success, then they are deluding themselves or they believe their own bullship that much, that they think they are on the right track, all I can say is open your eyes Adelaide, dont let Craig with his stubbornness drag the club to a lower position than it is in now.

why are we kicking backwards every chance we get? we seem so damn slow too. tackling is very poor. playing with our *depth* players are killing us.we are a crap footy team.surely we must cull burton, edwards and goodwin now. even mcleod should go.we are not making the finals this year, so as soon as we get a few players back, replace the older guys with them.keep the kids like cook, davis, walker in and have a goodbye day to the elder 4. also get rid of petrenko. he is unbelievably crap.why he gets a game every week is beyond me. get rid of henchel too. poor guy was dealt a bad hand in footy but so what, we are keeping duds on the list.if we had to keep 1 from that list id keep mcleod and let him run free for the rest of the year.and why not clear out the forward line, keep kurt, porps, and walker in the 50 and give em space!

Right, now that we managed to rid the team of Burton, time to turn our attention to Riley. What a shocker, I pray that he is out of contract at seasons end.

Reilly, you mean. Riley had a good game for Sturt.

Its not the result I expected with the Crows losing and being humiliated in so many games as they are.

The issue that no doubt no one really wants to think about that supports the AFC, is at what point is it considered that the season is shot and that the strategy moves to a rebuilding phase?

I do wonder what happens with the AFC if the point comes where its set in concrete that they cannot make the finals and what decisions are made in relation to making statements to the media about being in rebuilding mode. If the club confesses that they are rebuilding then it suggests that the effort of the past few seasons has failed and gone backwards. Neil Craig has now had several seasons to rebuild the club and suggesting that they are back again to rebuilding mode would imply that Craig has failed in what he intended to do with this group when he took it on.

The Crows will need to make a decision fairly soon in relation to the Coaching position, simply because of the intense Adelaide media scrutiny that will be on them for answers to the form of the Crows. They have two options, one to make it public to the media that the Crows are rebuilding and that they are extending the contract of Neil Craig for the 2012 Season to see that rebuilding process take place and for it to be given stability in the knowledge that the Senior Coach will be around for the next 2 1/2 years. Alternativley they can make the decision to go through the rebuilding process and as a part of that process appoint a new Senior Coach to do what Phil Carman did at Sturt and go through that process and make the club competitive with new ideas being brought to the club.

I think South fans are fairly safe that Ron Fuller is unlikely to be raided from the club for the Senior position at the Crows, I agree that he would be a fantastic choice for any AFL club, yet politics and bias against him because of his SANFL backround would suggest that he would not get the job, Roy Laird would most likely be in the same basket, he to would be good for the role but again would be unlikely to be offered it. Ultimatley they are going to be looking for someone who is already in the system as an Assistant Coach and has runs on the boards in terms of being a part of the coaching staff that has coached at AFL Premiership level. Hence Ken Hinkley is likely to be the sought after AFL coach who will probably get his choice of clubs after missing out on the Richmond job, which may well prove to be to his gain in the longer term!

The thing that really **** me off is that the first time we look set for a dead set dud of a season we won't even be able to cash in on draft picks.
