Not sure if it was in the paper today or not but on ABC news tonight they said Kieron Pollard has been offered a full SACA contract for next season.

I can confirm this is correct. He's an excitement machine and should put a few bums on seats for the 50 over games as well as the 20/20's.

I thought Cox said he is on the full contract but is only expected to play T20's.

Yeah but it is only being done for that reason as i understood it not because he is actually going to be playing 50 over or shield games.

Don't think Pollard will play in the t20 champions league with us his IPL side made the final therefore will be playing as well, would think they have lot more money to offer him plus his home Island side is a good chance of making it as well, we would be third in line for him in t20 champions league.

Cleary no great shock, although he'd be a tad stiff, after Rofe's retirement, he'd be the senior bowler.

If the side I named last night is in anyway near the mark, Dan Harris would be a near dead cert to Captain the side (if they don't want Manou).

Only other smokeys I could think of would be Klinger or Ferg.

They might even bring in a captain from interstate.

Myah, half right :)

A new partnership on the horizon, Mark Cosgrove & Boags Beer. I wonder if the advert on tv will work for him, dunk him in the clean waters of Tasmania, he could come out handsome....................................and a lot thinner.

I read where Cosgrove said he will be determined to make some big runs against the Redbacks when he plays them. Will you really Cossie? A bit of determination on your behalf would make a nice change.

Let me tell you something for nothing Cossie, just making runs against the Redbacks isn't going to impress anyone. What WILL impress people is if you show some self discipline and determination to succeed against ALL attacks, at ALL levels.

If getting a kick in the pants from the Redbacks is what it takes to get you to understand what is required to succeed at top level, then in time you may realise the favour the Redbacks have done for you, and maybe you will thank them.

Sure, it would be easy to keep you on the books, have you averaging 40 batting at number 4 and just doing enough to stay in the team. However, whereas an average of 40 may be good enough for some players, you are good enough to be averaging far higher than that at state level.

Until you realise this, then maybe you should just go the superzise at McDonalds and stop wasting everyone's time. After all the warnings you've been given, you still have the gall to come out and say your axing was a shock. Your head must be as thick as your waistline.

I found it funny in a weird kind of way, he says he's going to get fit/lose weight and is on a fitness programme. HELLO? Isn't this what we (and especially the SACA) wanted him to do yet he wasn't prepared to do it?
