there has not been much talk about the scores over the weekend! Bays got their first win of the season over goolwa infront of a big crowd. I think we were just to quick in the middle for goolwa and they didnt have the pace in the backlines to go with prest or harvey. How was the night LF did the big crowd stick around for the port elliot celebrations. How come your A grade captain from last year is playing B grade?

Bays looking foward to getting two in a row hopefully this saturday when we host myponga, myponga seem to be a mystery, great numbers, some good recruits, an experienced coach but just cant get a win, hopefully they wont this week either.

A fantastic win to the Bays on the weekend and on Goolwas special day must have hurt the Magpies.

The game at Yank was a very good game of footy. They jumped out of the blocks and hit the contest hard and everything they seemed to try came off and to be 5 goals down at qtr time was not a great position to be in.

To the boys credit we bounced back and took the ascendancy in the 2nd qtr with much quicker ball movement and went direct through the corridor and this saw us gradually peg the margin back to even at half time. The 3rd qtr was a tight affair with both sides attacking well and pushing hard both forwards and back with scores still level at 3 qtr time.

The final qtr we were able to get a run on and push the game out to a 5 goal win. Looking forward to the next encounter between the 2 sides. Hamsy was back to his best kicking 7, the 2 redheads Baxter and Groom were hard at it and did their jobs very well!

Goolwa this week im sure will be stinging from last weekends loss so must be on our toes to get the win this week!

Compass probably should have led by at least a goal or two if not for a few shocking misses in front of goal in the 3rd term.

The elusive McGregor blew the game open early in the last term for the creeks kicking 3 quick goals to give the Hawks a nice buffer.
Final score.
L. Ck 15 - 5 (95)
Mt. Comp 10 - 10 (70)

15.5. Handy kicking and proved the difference by the looks.

Mclaren certainly would like to have seen better results but wont deviate from their plan to build a team around the up and coming juniors. Just need a couple of recruits to help them along the way.

Myponga on the other hand must be scratching their heads. The talent seems to be there to make some improvement, but scoreboard not ticking over. Didnt expect them to beat strath but the scoreline was deflating.

There has been in roads this year, just not on the score board. We're not about excuses but the program & injuries have not been kind to us. Take out Saturday against Strath, that was just an old school flogging. Victor, Creek & Willunga have all been games where we were competitive & had impressive patches but at some stage we've just stopped & they've kicked 7 or 8 goals to nothing in a 1/4. Take nothing away from Goolwa they were to good but we had our chances. Kicked 2.6 or 2.7 in the first 1/4 & late in the game when we had a shot to hit the front and missed from 25m out straight in front.
After being away from the club for a couple of years its improved greatly. No quick fixes, half the side just needs to get 40 or 50 games under there belt. I would like to think that the boys will come with a much better attitude this week, the Bays will be tough on there home deck.

Bays were just too good on the day in what can only be described as an average game of football. I wouldnt say we were beaten for pace, but we were certainly beaten by desire and urgency. It was another bumper crowd which we have come to expect for home matches, hopefully some of the faces there for the first time for a long time can become regular fixtures. Our captain from last year plays at Ironbank (who are 0-5!) but I presume you are talking about the Griffen boys?? They have only just started playing so easing in to it. Those 2 as well as the 2 jones boys could be ins this week. And BJ keep off your toes mate I am sure you wont be needing to be on them unless your planning on playing with 14 players on the field against us this week. Without been too negative I reckon season 2010 could get ugly because it is pretty clear who the top 5 will be even at such an early stage.

Oh BloodRoo ya silly skip, hop back in ya mumma's pouch, your club should put a muzzle on you if your going to make ridiculous comments like that! damian's post is a pretty accurate account of how things are at McLaren this season and it was pretty similar last season. Hilly is doing a good job coaching the young local blokes develop into what will be, in a few seasons to come, a strong, competitive team.

:o) :weedman: 8-} Dude you are definately off with the pixies!! Post something useful or nothing at all!!

It seems you are the only club that has problems with Mclaren, are there any other clubs you have problems with? If so, i think you had better look at your club as the problem with ferals. I don't think we have any dramas with other clubs in the league.

haha kerna's not wanting to buy into the debate but i do know of two very respected victor players who have climbed out the back window of the change rooms to get into a waiting car because a few of your supporters have chosen to try and king hit them on the way into the change rooms, and before you start saying they are weak for not exiting out the door, it was a direction from two of your club officials that they leave via this way, thats what makes it even funnier.

Or the ugly incident between Encounter and McLarens a couple of years back when the angry mob confronted the Bays players as the headed into their changerooms and punches were thrown...I think Yetti may know more!!! ;)

yeah there's been bad blood between some players and supporters from the 2 clubs for a few years now, not sure what it all started from tho. It will be interesting next week (round 7) when they go beak to beak down at the bay! Every club has people they are probably better off without, it's a shame because it can ruin a good afternoon of footy when that sort of crap happens.

There is a lot of support at McLaren (not the vale  ) from mothers, wifes, girlfriends, juniors and even grandparents, that's what makes a good footy club! Getting a few wins in the A grade is probably the main worry at the moment. ](*,)

Judging from past posts and the fact that McLaren just handed them a spanking in the B grade, I think you will find BloodRoo is actually a player/supporter from Victor with past Port Elliot ties ?. He is also a few months behind because in his original post he had three items that go together he just got the wrong sport.
