Yes, no disrespect to both North and West but I would have though the Round 9 top of the table clash between the Eagles and Central would have been the 'better' game to televise?

The SANFL's most watched team still hasn't had a TV game.

Another five weeks of RPH purgatory.

Yes, I found that interesting as well, but obviously you need to take into consideration that Norwood have played a few night games, have they not ?

Don't like the RPH coverage of Norwood games topsy?

All the more reason to go to that match instead of missing the full experience on tv. ;)

Yes, I'll be there Scott, don't worry about that mate ;)

I'll be doing the stats for the Doggies reserves, just thought from a general POV this would have been the better game to televise...

Fine by me that LifeFM is doing a top of the table clash.

A question for listeners ... for the Central v Eagles game should Big Phil (Central) & myself (Eagles)

a) try our best to both retain a neutral, objective perspective of the game as we commentate it

or

b) drop the pretence and both bring our biased barracker side into the coverage so its PhilH v Big Phil in the commentary box
with poor John Nankivell to sit between us and keep some order.

I suspect professionalism means we will run with a) but b) would be different and probably more entertaining.

Regardless of whether we go with option a) or b) I suggest that the winning team supporter at least has a beer purchased for them in the fine establishment that is Grand Central !!

That all being said, PhilH is a winner either way with the result of this game...

Thanks to a little pre-season wager on the outcome of the 6 quarter Thebarton trial game between these 2 clubs, PhilH came out of this one a financial member of the Doggies.

At least you'll get 5% discount off the beer you buy me next Saturday afternoon mate ;)

How about option C
Forget the CD v WWT and get your mic's down to the North game. That way club bias won't be an issue ;)

Maybe I was too harsh BP but some of the RPH commentators, not naming names, simply can't name enough of the players to make the coverage as enjoyable as it could be.

More scores through the game would be nice too.

I like the sound of some barracking Phil - although BP might need to be promoted to calling rather than doing special comments to even it up ;)

This is the worst part. Sometimes you aren't listening to the full coverage (like Friday nights) and flick it on just to get a score. Ten minutes can pass and when there's a point kicked and still no score update I nearly hit the roof!!

Ten minutes can pass without you working out its a game of football being commentated on at times with RPH. High Diddle Diddles, Sausage Rolls, Wild Men of Boreno, Smithfield Crash Clangers.
Apologies if its improved since I stopped listening a couple of years ago.

LOL!

It has got marginally better but only because Paul Blandis is no longer on air however Dennis Browne is still a pain in the arse with those annoying sayings which you have pointed out Drunky!

They still carry on with all sponsors crap but I suppose it is Community / Volunteer Station and it needs to fund it's programs however I am suprised they haven't got sponsors for the seats they sit on, the canteens they buy their food from and the microphones they use. I think everything else is covered on game day though?
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.

how about a wager on the game and the loser has to wear the winning teams scarf to the next central v eagles game.

Couldn't agree more. If you're going to call a game, learn who the players are. And if you aren't going to learn who the players are, don't spend 10 seconds umming and erring about who it is while the action you aren't describing continues.

As a result of losing this corresponding bet back in 2009, I was actually a financial member of the Eagles last year so I have no problem with that idea.

We'll see how PhilH feels about it?

Round 21 at Woodville is the next time these 2 sides clash, on the 21st of August...
