The Black Wattle Original Ale is an amazing beer, toasty goodness all through it, barely needs to be chilled at all. A genuine winter rip snorter.

The ESB is pretty damn good too.

I went with a carton of the Pale Ales, I'll give the Black Wattle a go next time. Thanks.

Aromatic and seriously addictive. Goes down real easy. Some ales can weigh you down a bit, this is not one of those.

9/10. Loses a point for not being 375ml.

Only had the Fat Yak once when I was in Melbourne last year.
My mates all thought it was awesome, but I wasn't convinced.
Too sweet for my liking.

My preferences - the order can vary depending on how I feel that day, and I'm open to trying beers I've not had before:
Dortmunder DB
Peroni Nastro Azzuro
Asahi DB
XXXX Bitter
Carlton Cold
Windhoek
Tiger
Boag's Premium
and for a light Cascade.

Definitely worth a go. Comparable to the Fat Yak Pale Ale because they both use the Nelson Sauvin hops, but the Baron's version is a touch less aromatic. Still retains a distinct flavour that lingers on the tongue.

Crown Lager definitely over rated.
It's VB in a fancy bottle.

Sadly, tonight, I've only managed a Bundy and coke can. All that's left in the house.
I think I shall get something nice to drink tomorrow night when I get back from chauffering blokes to the footy and back.

One of the joys - and in fact tonight, the only joy :( - of a match at Norwood is an excuse to pop into what used to be the Norwood hotel for a few exorbitantly overpriced ales and a countery.

Started with a Little Creatures Bright Ale. A very light tasting beer with a strong hoppy after-taste. Better suited to warmer weather, but a nice drop to start with all the same.

Next had a James Squire Amber Ale. More body than the Bright Ale; sweet and fruity. Vague bitter aftertaste.

Had another Amber Ale then called it quits. Had to sober up to drive home.
Clowns OUT. Smears OUT. RESIST THE OCCUPATION.

BEST vaule beer IMO - Can quite often pick it up for under $40 at First Choice and around $41 standard at Dan Muprhys.
The range are all good, but have been sticking with the Lager over the last couple of weeks.
