Would be interesting to see ALL jockeys.... You've also got to remember that these good jockeys are also more likely to be riding favourites so when they win their POT won't improve much, yet some of the other jockeys may have a good POT but they don't get as many points in the JC's...

And to me, Wharton looks like a jockey on the improve....

Re: Jockey Challenge

Postby Mr_Willy » Fri May 07, 2010 11:03 am

What do people like today? Normally a good day Friday.. Done a little bit of study this morning so ready for a crack....

JOCK MstPts ORANGE - Leading Point Scorer
49701 RYAN Greg 1.30 $
49702 JONES Terry 8.50 $
49703 CAVALLO Anthony 10.00 $
49704 GALEA Joe 13.00 $
49705 HYERONIMUS Adam 17.00 $
49706 ADAMS Josh 17.00 $
49707 BENSLEY Richard 21.00 $
49708 ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL JOCKEY 26.00

Ryan is obviously the one to beat but he is way shorter than I thought he would be. Hyeronimus, Cavallo and Adams the best of the rest I reckon.

JOCK MstPts WAGGA - Leading Point Scorer
49691 SHINN Blake 2.40 $
49692 BOWMAN Hugh 3.20 $
49693 ANGLAND Tye 4.80 $
49694 WARD Brendan 12.00 $
49695 BUCKLEY Grant 12.00 $
49696 REITH Christian 16.00 $
49697 SWEENEY Kevin 16.00 $
49698 ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL JOCKEY 15.00

Nothing between the top 3 here. One of them should be winning. Sweeney the only outside option with the rides to figure.

JOCK MstPts SUNSHINE COAST - Leading Point Scorer
49711 BYRNE Jim 1.30 $
49712 GRIFFIN Daniel 6.00 $
49713 BROWNE Damian 9.00 $
49714 SAWYERS Kenne 16.00 $
49715 CAHILL Michael 21.00 $
49716 HOLDER Jason 31.00 $
49717 WHARTON Kelvin 41.00 $
49718 ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL JOCKEY 21.00 $

Another short one, and Byrne has 6 point scoring chances in the 8 races. I reckon Browne is the one to beat him if anybody does. Will be coming home late, so might be worth waiting until after the first race or two... but if Byrne stuffs up the first or first two I think Browne's odds will tumble

JOCK MstPts BENDIGO - Leading Point Scorer

49681 WINKS James 2.40 $
49682 SYMONS Chris 2.70 $
49683 EGAN Billy 7.00 $
49684 RAWILLER Brad 10.00 $
49685 STANLEY Brent 26.00 $
49686 HOLLAND Dean 26.00 $
49687 MELHAM Ben 41.00 $
49688 ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL JOCKEY 7.00

A very open JC I think. Holland not without a chance but would need to win races 1 and 6 - has another that could score and would need every point. I give chances to all of the top 3 as well as Holland, Stanley and Murphy (AOJ)

Similar thoughts to you Willy.

I stayed away from Orange, too many unreliable and unknown jockeys/horses for me.

Byrne hard to beat at the Sunshine Coast, and definitely more relaible than Wharton. Can't see him not getting enough points to win, but I thought the same yesterday with Wharton...

In Sydney, I rated Shinn & Angland followed by Bowman then a gap to Sweeney/Reith a chance, in that order. I don't mind the value about Angland.

Bendigo, I had Holland, Winks and Symons as my top chances, although by looking at the prices, I don't know if I like the value around Symons.

Might work just a few multies around Winks/Symons & Shinn/Angland & Byrne.

I've just gone some small multis around

Holland/Winks/Stanley
Hyeronimos/Cavallo/Galea
Browne/Byrne
Sweeney/Shinn

Only using Byrne and Shinn to try and add a little bit more to the combos....

Handy win for Cavallo at Orange with Ryan not scoring

I really feel Ryan's card is overrated... a lot of rides, but and a lot of scoring chances, but I don't think many of them are definite point scorers....
