Beer discussion

Postby Dogwatcher » Thu May 06, 2010 11:17 pm

So, most of us drink beer.
Always enjoying trying new beers.

Tonight, I'm sitting down with a Dark Knight porter made by Murray's.
A nice drop. Not too heavy, like some darker brews and it doesn't necessarily have to be cold to drink it.
Has a bit of a licorice taste.

Really enjoying it.

Was part of a four pack of different beers I bought from Murray's Brewery, near Port Stephens near Newcastle.

Also drank a Murray's Whale Ale tonight, very nice. But not my favourite pale around. Was a bit
darker than your average pale too.

Over to you guys.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

Fat Yak Ale.

Aromatic and seriously addictive. Goes down real easy. Some ales can weigh you down a bit, this is not one of those.

9/10. Loses a point for not being 375ml.

I've been drinking a bit of that lately too.
We were looking for something a bit different and that was it.
Very nice. I don't think I could drink it all of the time but it's great for a quiet beer, with a steak or bbq. Not necessarily a long sesh though.

Good topic DW.

I am one of those beer drinkers who has a fall back favourite ( Coopers Pale ) but most weekends I find myself trying something different.

Summer saw Miller Chill, Coopers Clear and Peroni get a touch up. Now the cooler nights have had Coopers Mild Ale and James Squire Pale Ale get a run.

Thanks DW, I'm thinking about my stop off at Dan Murphy's on the way home already. ;)

Anyone tried Baron's range of beer? I reckon I'll give their pale ales a crack this weekend.

No one is here to judge, but rating West End and VB as beers is too much to bear.

I had WED poured on my head one time after a game of footy...it took off a couple of layers of skin.

I usually buy something different for xmas, some good lagers I've had are Southwark Premium, Boags Premium and Blue Tongue Premium otherwise it's usually TED's, Coopers Clear or Hahn Super Dry whateva's cheapest at the time. I did buy a carton of Hammer N Tongs a while ago when I was broke

The Black Wattle Original Ale is an amazing beer, toasty goodness all through it, barely needs to be chilled at all. A genuine winter rip snorter.

The ESB is pretty damn good too.
