Incidentally the first footballer to step on to Footy Park was Rick Schubert, father of former North player Shane. He was captain of North ressies at the time.

My former boss was the first player to kick a goal at Footy Park in an SANFL game (albeit a Reserves game). He was a ruckman playing for CD.
