what a great test it will be this week against the current champions.
the boys will go in with confidence after two fantastic wins.
i hope young Longman can keep his elbows tucked in this week because we need his skill out on the battlefield. his sin binning nearly proved costly last week at THE FORTRESS.
an injury concern to one of our leaders is worrying but I am confindent he will take his place against uraidla districts.

and yes informer it was a thrill to see my name in last weeks budget.
have great respect for owen and the work he does with that publication. he is a great administrator.

I think the improvement in teams such as Bridgewater, Onkas, Mt Barker, Birdwood and Lobethal is simply due to a bigger investment in their playing squads. I'm not sure if this is a good thing, but these clubs cannot compete if they dont spend ca$h. Somehow they now have $$$ to pay, and so their results improve. The question is can it last ?

On a positive note, it seems that the central comp will be a good one this year with few one-sided games.

Was dissapointed with the Onkas performance on Saturday. We controlled the game early and should have been 3-4 goals up at quarter time. Was a classic case of lost opportunities.

i think for the first time in a long while the players are confident they could give a premeir contender a real good shake! Just have to wait and see how big a toll the weekends game against lofty will take. Could be a few big injuries? It will definatly be alot closer than the past few years, with the raiders a small chance from an upset if they can keep playing as a team like the last few weeks.

I think the attitude at the club has changed over the last year and a bit! And the Players we have recruited are enjoying the football club and the local boys are loving having them here! I think the fact that last years recruits besides derviers ( personal reasons) staying is a sighn of this! So hopefully we can keep this going this year and into next year and see where it takes us!

You Bridgy boys might have got lucky last week but get ready to be smashed on Saturday. And who does Vaughan know at the hfl to get his name in the budget? What about the rest of us. Everyone reads this stuff.

How is Mt Loftys forward line looking without L Fleet? I saw him play at Kangy on Saturday, he must surely be a big loss for the devils. Any particular reason for his shift to echunga?

I heard echunga threw a bit of coin at him fair enough too what i seen of him has a good mark when on a lead & has a very good kick for goal

Yes he certainly looked damaging, must have kicked 5 or 6. Very handy pick up

Heard from a couple of people that there was a fight between a few Mt Lofty & Bridgey boys at the Havvy after this weeks game? True or not?

this weeks tips
birdwood vs onkaparinga - bulldogs by 5 goals
mount lofty vs lobethal - mt lofty should bounce back but dont be surprised to see a close result... lofty by 3 goals
mount barker vs ironbank - barker should easily account for them by 10+ goals
uraidla districts vs bridgewater - tipping with the heart on this one raiders in a thriller and to take the streak to 3 games for the first time in a long time. come on boys!
hahndorf vs blackwood - should be a great battle after hahndorf had a good win last week blackwood by 4 goals.

cant wait for saturday out at uraidla. one of the best grounds in the hills and lets hope the boys bring their best brand of football!
and my offer to do some freelance work for the final siren still stands if any of the paper pushers down at hfl hq are intersted.

Well there you go  ...You know .......... :? Vaughan reminds me of a young Silky Skills with his posts.
It’s a long season and newbie’s do not like the wet and the cold. 8)
Best chance though for Shanty playing at the cabbage in the dry!!
And Owen does like the heat taken away from him so at the moment you are the man Vaughan.
Just be careful when Sherrin22 has a go! :D

PS Go SILKY you have a lot supporting your efforts.

Fleety may have played B grade last yr but is by no means a B grade player definately should of been playing A grade last yr and perhaps now having lost him, lofty may realise his true worth.
