They went to watch Strath play Creeks as a team then practiced a rolling zone at training all week. Wouldn't call it a never seen before game style.

Im sure its just a few old Yank boys gettin carried away with the current good form... Been a long time since the club has been in the current situation.... Cant knock em for gettin excited tho..

Having said that, we realise that we have Willunga this week and we are gonna need to pull out all stops and have 21 contributors to match the Demons... They are still the team to beat...

6 consecutive premierships speaks volumes of their committment and quality... We arent gettin ahead of ourselves thats for sure, and looking forward to providing a great advertisment for country footy this Sat at Yank Oval...

Everyone loves putting themselves up against the best, and Willunga are currently just that, so we cant wait!!!

Very diplomatic hey BJ..... How many cliches did i end up fitting in there?? HAHA

Seriously tho, really looking forward to a ripping game of high class country footy... Maybe the SFL should take note of how to run a league successfully and create a great atmosphere... Anyone not doing anything Sat afternoon should pop in and have a gander at 2 hungry and skilful teams compete..

And grab a beer or 3 at the now undercover bar area in front of the changerooms...

Also lookin forward to havin a beer with ya after the game BJ... Ur shout i reckon...

I can assure you that it wasn't a rolling zone cos all the fat blokes have been relegated to their rightful place in the B grade! And yes there is a lot of hoopla in Yank at the moment (I haven't seen it this bad since one Greg Whitt returned) however I have never seen a side win a premiership in MAY and from what I understand the playing group are keeping that in check, you can't blame the supporters as they have been waiting a long time for a side that can compete week in week out. BJ you don't drive a grey fairlane by chance???

With the players that have been recruited to the comp and the continuing development of the local players and their ability to step up to the level we have a very competitive comp and this year is very wide open.

Yanks recruiting has been great not only for them but the comp. I know we've always said the comp needs a strong Yank and this year it looks like they'll be around the mark come late September. As for reality checks this week i think Yank proved last week they are much better than even you South are giving them credit for, a tough trip to Strath and to knock off the premiership favourites was a great effort on Straths home deck. I expect a well drilled Yankalilla side with a good structure and spine and a committed 21, sounds cliche but its a fact that theyve started the season very well, beaten teams well and sparked the comp into life. The Tigers will be a tough proposition this Saturday no doubt.

Sorry george, i drive a white Subaru not a fairlane.

I reckon i can recall watching Yank A grade in a grand final in the late 90's, was either at Victor or Encounter Bay, they lost the game to Strath if my memory is correct. I presume that would have been the last year they were major contenders. Must have been around 98 or 99.

Did Yank not play a grand final in the 90's against Strath too? Maybe i was thinking of a prelim then. I might need to go and check the official site :)

Shoe Boy. Simple hypothetical question for you...and a simple yes or no would suffice.

If Noarlunga were invited to join the GSFL in 2011 ...Would you?

The Shoe is a great oval, buuuuuutttttt I have played watched and been involved in many games of footy at the shoe and all SFL grounds over the years and I can safely say with the crowds and atmoshpere in the SFL it is a 100 times better in the GSFL. The GSFL comp set up is also obviously alot better.

Shoeboy you are deluded if you think the SFL comes close to the GSFL. This is my opinion 4 rounds in anyway.
