Wiggins was an absolute joke thats for sure.

Rusca played some good footy for us in 03(?) We just couldn't get him on the park often enough.

David Flood didn't play for West, only wore the Doggies jumper for a couple of seasons...

David Flood ...

I also thought of David Flood, but the topic question was based on the post "Cows, pa'ar" era. Flood would have been okay if he could have stayed fit. But he couldn't so I guess flood was a dud. From memory he was later involved with the reserves coaching staff.

I seem to recall him kicking 5 or 6 goals in his first league game for the Doggies against Norwood at Footy Park, think it might have been a curtain raiser to a Crows game.

I think he got involved as an 'assistant' coach in some capacity once his season was over due to injury, from memory, had a lot of hamstring issues. Went on to be an assistant coach at Essendon, his former club of course, for a while then coached in the TAC U/18's comp I think.

Of the current players, Shane Birss at Westies has struggled BIG time.

I reckon Shannon Rusca was good service when he was fit and on the park, he played some really good games!

Birss was easily BOG for the Ressies last game and will be a good chance for selection this week.

Probably a bit hard to be critical of Birss given his personal problems, but then again these things are more acceptable to talk about these days and the problems some recruits had in years gone by would not have been acceptable "excuses". Of course, other players may have just been drop-kicks fullstop.

Yes but realistically he should be going close to BOG each week in the 1's. I still think he is like another recruit for the bloods once he gets going. Im hoping he can recapture his best form and not be mentioned in this thread, but he is at this time IMO in this thread deservingly.

Last year FH thats fair enough, but his form this year i have not taken into account his personal demons at all. Not a bad thing to be harsh on your on team, im expecting him to do alot more for the rest of the season and help us make the finals!

Sorry mate, couldn't resist ;)

I agree about Torney, that is also something Central have had good service from...

Players returning from AFL careers and giving back to the club that got their career started...

Could be a new thread started on this topic I know, but the likes of Schell, Healy, Thomas, Steinberner, Switala, S.Cochrane, Sansbury, McKinnon etc etc..

Wiggins was definitely a copper.

I remember him saying he wanted to get into the starforce "so he can shoot people and not get in trouble for it". They were his words, not mine!

Fair point CK. Guess a bit similar to my expectations of Schwarze - may have had some disappointment from being dropped from an AFL list in the first year, but expect more after that.

That was the one I came in here to post. Utter shocker for us, I still don't know what trouble he caused there.
It's all the SANFL's fault.
