Mate once again someone looking at the final scores and jumping off making stupid comments.

Ingle Farm trailed by 5 points at half time and were in it up to their necks, fitness and to be honest probably a lack of remembering how to win cost them. To Kenilworths credit though they definately lifted another knotch and really brought it home. The final score does not do justice to the game Ingle Farm played i dont think.

Same happened with the B grade, the 'Burras legs just destroyed farmers late in the game and i think kicked 9 goals in the last quarter to really blow it out?

I've got a question for you then Lads, what do you expect Niven to do? Can only use what he has on offer in terms of players.

The problem in my opinion lies with the players. A lack of drive, a lack of desire, a lack of RESPECT. Respect for the footy club, for themselves, for their team mates. Until attitudes change and some of these "superstars" pull their head in, train and work hard then things wont change.

Look at the best players for A grade & B grade over the last 2 seasons, littered with u18 kids and Grant Hawkesworth - the people who train every night and work hard and honor playing in the A grade for their club.

Have got a pretty good mix at the moment, several lads under 20 stepping up to A Grade footy and plenty of experience around the ground.

It was good to get another away win, but especially on a big ground. Geez, who would have thought we'd have dropped two games at home and our two wins would be on the road

 Just swallow my last bite of humble pie and rephrase my earlier statement. It appears that at present they struggle on small round grounds at high altitude!

however the saafl need to take a good hard look at trinity and there oval, we were playing on the top oval which is a great surface but for our lads having to walk to the old oval changerooms 500m away, while trinity have there rooms 20m away from the main oval isnt good enough, no team at half time can escape the heat and walk back to the rooms, then back to the oval in the 10 minutes for half time. During the B grade there was no official from trinity brining the umpires a drink and on a 26 degree day that is unsafe.

has anyone else had any problems with there new oval this year

Think id rather get changed under the trees and shower with a bucket than play on the old oval which felt like you were running at forty five degrees and can have shots from ten metres inside the square

The right choice of coach would have brought players to the club or kept players at the club, instead you lost them. A lack of drive, a lack of desire and a lack of respect? This is totally the coaches job to to get these 3 things out of players, only good coaches do it and demand it from their players

Congrats to "The Raiders" for giving the boys from Rutland Ave some "Football lessons". In fact quite a few lessons!
Lesson #1 - Don't read or believe your own press
Lesson #2 - Don't go on a holiday during the Footy Season
Lesson #3 - Don't ever leave the door to victory open AND
Lesson #4 - It aint over till it's over!

Houghton with a genuine team effort, some smart coaching and a couple of handy Key Forwards hung in there on Saturday and never gave up "snatching victory from the jaws of defeat"

Talk about getting ahead of ourselves, I hope the Lockleys boys learnt something from these "Football Lessons". Just goes to show how close this comp can be and how committed some Demons aren't. I couldn't believe, three 1st 18 Demon players would plan a trip to Country Vic for a music festival in Rnd4.... WTF! Not an excuse, just an unbelievable fact.

With 3 of the next 5 at Home "The Raiders" could be "back in town" I don't expect them to lose up on the hill in the near future, after what must have been a great morale booster, courtesy of the "Vidal Sassoon Demons".

This week should offer a couple of interesting games with
*CLG v Lockleys both coming off loses AND
*Houghton v Paralowie both coming off good wins

It will be interesting to see who are "Contenders" and who are "Pretenders"

I might be out of line here but it is Div 6 football and probably the reason why some players capable of playing ALOT higher play at this level. People do have lives ... players miss games for all sorts of reasons weddings holidays etc .

Might be different if they are missing hand ful or more games a season and dont train regularly ....

Bit unfair to lay partial blame on players that werent there ..... Did they go through the right avenues communicating of there un availability ???

Im not having a crack if you wanna set that precendence all clubs want 100 % commitment from the playing group but that is a big ask at this level.

The big question is will they all be picked next week or will they come back through the twos ???

when you have a team made up of young guys, mostly all under 24,you are going to have committment issues.
i think you have to consider the message thay are recieving at club level, what they are being taught and the life lessons that are hopefully installed into the young guys.
imo these lads will be back in the As next week
with a hard game against CLG next week the only thing on coaches mind will be the win i think, could be wrong but just my opion
i think this is the chance for the coaches to make a statement on what it message they are trying to teach these guys, the committment to club to team and the biggest one to your BROTHERS
will wait and see
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

Sure a Wedding, a Funeral or the Birth of your child takes precident over a game of Footy and fortunatelly most of us do have lives, but we're not playing social tennis, here.
But hey that was not my point, no specific blame for the loss can be put on the "wandering minstrels". The 21 that took the field and the coaching staff were outplayed and outcoached on the day. I'm sure "The Raiders" would admit the game could have and should have been out of reach by half time. My point being that the "The Demons" got far too ahead of themselves and gave a good honest side, in Houghton Districts an opportunity, which they took with both hands or more to the point with Starry's Buckets and pinched a win! A good honest side that will only get better and will shape this Div 6 comp. Nothing but respect for "The Raiders"!

It doesn't matter how old you are. When you play a team game like Aussie Rules, you owe your team mates and your club a certain level of committment.

Certainly will be interesting though down at Rutland Ave, this week and what message is sent and how it is recieved.

Two other Demon players were sent messages from the coaching staff last week and in response one kicked 7 goals in the Ressies and the other was BOG in the C's. That's how I would like players to respond.

What will be the message for the boys MIA from Satdee and the others who underperformed, we'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully we don't see two sets of rules or double standards. Strong Leadership and a consistent message is what is required at any level. Or we might as well just set up permanent residency in Div6 and then we can all go on holidays.
