I thought we did have some positives to come out of the match. Again our disipline was good, there were a few scuffles towards the end of the match but overall it was pretty good and we ended up only giving away one 25m penelty which was good to see. Plympton may of won by 15 goals but I thought we fought it out well everyone gave it a good crack, it would of been a different story last year. I thought our biggest positive was that we didn't lose it at each other or at the umpires meaning we are becoming a better team each week.

Specials mentions i'll give to Kyron Dixon, who played his first game on the weekend as a 16 year old. Played really well and stood out for most of the match, unluckly not to get in the best players. A few guys need to look at what he did during the game and see what they can do to improve their own performances.

How did Ty MAD DOG DFuerden play this week? Hitting a bit of form yet?

Next week is an absolute must win game against Lutheran, no excuses. We really have to win this one to keep being competitive this season, to gain some confidence in ourselves and keep the positive vibe going.

there were some very good signs through out the grades.. one thing i thought your A's did good was you guys never stopped running... The guy with the dreads can play... Also that young lad has some talent....
certainly alot of positives to take out of yesterday....

Yeah Matty (Eagles) played well as has been one of our best so far this year. Good to see that you also noticed that we didn't stop running and didn't give up, shows that the signs are good.

Will be pretty hard for Smithfield now imho, still have four tough games BLx2 and Elix2. Who are very likely to be pace setters this season.

Master Of The Obvious ;). We lost our first six in Oldy's first season and still made the finals, yes, it will be hard, we can still go in 4 & 5 at the half way mark, it's just a week by week proposition. We're not getting flogged, Lutheran kicked about 3 or 4 charity goals in the last few minutes on Saturday to give them their 7 goal win.
Lutheran will get better now they've broken the shackles, they were fit and answered our challenges.
I thought one of the umpires was pretty consistent all day and the other one gave Lutheran 3 free kicks that resulted in goals in the first quarter and then gave us a good run after that. I'd rather just see consistency all round, oh well, easy from the sidelines.

Whats missing at the moment, on paper its a real handy side with blokes that could and have played at a higher standard.

Steve Taylor, Hanley, Considine, Anderson, Hogan, Tuckey, Newman, Matt Daly, Macartney along with a few others that haven't sprung to mind immediately, all of these players are integral components in our teams make up.
Throw in that we are trying to adapt a new game plan and it will take time to get it right. Everyone has injuries, it's who you have to cover them that is important, we've just got a few too many holes atm, Tommy Jenkins didn't last more than 10 minutes on the weekend which left us a KPP down all day.

Daly got called up for Central 18's last week after two very impressive games with us, Macartney has only just started training and needs some fitness work, all of the rest plus a few more are injured.

Yeah mate, he's still an assistant out there, he should get more than half of the remaining games in for us, he'll get better with more match fitness, very good with his effective disposals.

Not very good with his ineffective disposal then?

No, I can't recall any turnovers from his boot, so whatever you mean, I'm sure you know what you're on about.

Effective indicates they were very good without stating it.

There is usually a percentage that goes with the effective disposals, perhaps I should've entered a figure instead.

well played by heccies on the weekend. two goals in succession early in the last quarter was enough to break the game open.

cracking decision made by one ump in the 2nd quarter when he stopped play because he thought our player had stepped over the goal line. he was only about 20 meters away at the time with the goal ump within spitting distance of the palyer with the ball. once he'd stopped play he had no choice but to ball it up in their goal square even though we ahd cleared the ball the club room side

must win against the valleys this week. our b grade are coming together pretty well after an average round 1 performance. should be two good games down at thebbie.

Your B's have been one of the most incosistent sides I've seen over the past couple of years, no offense but they are world beaters one week and woeful the next. It's good to see them getting together then, they are very impressive in full flight.

It was actually cause the ball had crossed the line while in his hands, because he initially went to rush a behind then changed his mind at the last moment.
But anyway, that umpire you speak of was shocking all day. Some quite ridiculous calls against both sides.

Blacks intensity and endeavour was good all day and never really let us get going. We need to improve on our goal kicking though, will end up costing us eventually. 43.43 for the season not good enough.

LM, round 1 to round 2 this year is an example of what you say. yes there were a few changes between those games but it doesn't account for the variations in results.
more have trained during pre season which helps them know whether their team mate can kick 30 or 50 meters and with which foot, so i'm sure that is helping.

maybe his view of it was better than i thoguh then.
losing babich and rugari in the first quarter made it tough. i thought we scrapped to stay in it all day.
the 25m for the water bottle incident against you guys in the first quarter was an interesting one as well.
