A few undisiplined players, once they were rattled with score board pressure, they went the man, this escalated in numerous free kicks to Kangarilla mostly in front of goals, 50m penaltys and red cards, a lesson to all teams who wish to beat Gum this year, they will retaliate, ive seen stray dogs with more discipline than what Gum put on display in the last half yesterday and after watching them in the last half against Meadows aswell in round 1, cant wait to see how they will cope against the better sides when the pressure intensifies.
Number 11 from Kangarilla, once he started winning centre breaks was obviously targeted.
Good to see Sedan crack their first win in the comp, hopefully Callington can recover from the weeks procedings, its never fun losing every week but being associated with Milang (good luck boys!!) the key is to stick with it through the bad and savour the good moments.
Looks like Torrens Valley wont have it all their way this year as previously predicted by many with the brookers and Echunga can certainly match it with them on the day.A few injuries to Torrens Valley along the journey and anything can happen. Gunning seems to be the man to shut down.
Top 3 looks settled and then a log jam of Maccy, Kangy, Gum and Nairne fighting for the other 2 spots.. Meadows seem a little further off the pace but have the talent to upset a few teams along the way.
Callington another wooden spoon on the horizon..

Both sides were equally ill disciplined but the men in yellow only had eyes for one side in a poor display after half time, even they said the red wasnt deserved but wont resinced it. The guy i question knew he did wrong and was upset by it. Love the attitude of the Kangarilla heroes on the sidelines after the long break, shouting wonderful comments and lovely chatter, continuing the pigheaded arrogant attitude theyve shown since coming back to the HFL. That said. well played to their blokes on the field, they shouldnt have even been a chance given our poor goalkicking but they played well and got the chocies....... Much soul searching done in the Gumeracha rooms tonight and you can be sure that a performance like that wont happen again.
Much will be made of our players and their actions today but it takes 2 to tango, our blokes dont hit for no reason, its just sad people only have eyes for us and not the opposition.

The problem that I have is that both sets of players arent being protected by the umpires, who up until the 3rd qtr were having a reasonable day IMO but lost control.
Countless times yesterday when a couple of players in particular our side were attacking the ball they were smacked in the face and nothing was done. At one stage a guy whose shoulder was clearly dislocated and laying on the ground was laid into by his Kangarilla opponent and again nothing was done. Couple that with the constant abuse coming from the outer and its not hard to see why SOME of our players react the way they do. Of course youd like to think some of them have a bit thicker skin but they dont and thats life, not everyone does. And before you go attacking the club culture at Gumeracha take a step back 12 months and remember which clubs supporters ran onto the field and kinghit some of our guys during a game. Isolated incident maybe, but its hardly the type of thing you want.

It only takes one umpire to feel the pressure a little and then in turn the other starts to make mistakes. Youre right, we'll have to deal with it and its a situation that weve played a reasonable part in creating. As ive mentioned though, its not just the opposition teams copping it but us aswell and thats what the club is concerned about. Im sure itll all be sorted out in the wash.
As for Mick, he copped a massive amount of attention after his 11 last week, some of it one would consider outside the rules of the game but so be it. I think he got 3-4 I might be wrong and like his mates he missed a few shots too.

Please deal with the facts ..wakefield was king hit ,then belted and was quite ill after the game and today .Ashby was tagged who wouldnt be after 11 week before and tagged was all nothing else happened .The constant sniping of small players is a disgrace and takes us back to the 60s and 70s.
Umpires are scared to act we witnessed that from the outer after one umpire was abused he did nothing. This has happened three weeks in a row and has to be stopped either by the club or the league.
Please dont defend or condone blatant "sniping" .Someone will be seriously hurt soon ,it is a disgrace . Please dont try and paint a picture that the team in blue provoked it all as thats untrue ,it happened when Gumeracha had thier lead challenged by scoreboard pressure.

Whatever it was, the whole setup is a blight on the HFL for allowing it to continue.
As expected, TV 60+ goals, Callington 0.0. Best Players; The HFL Board of Directors.
What an absolute thrill the TV juggernaut must get out of a hollow victory such as this.
