Heard from a few sources that the Victor Oval is in pretty ordinary condition atm although not neccessarily the fault of the footy club.

The courts take 6 to 12 months to get your case heard, the independant tribunal will rule in favour of the contract, as the judge said in troy and danno"s case the contracts are binding, These guys have no chance of playing for Ironbank unless Goolwa/Port Elliot releases them from there contract.

can only make one comment on this and that is if goolwa make a big deal about this does this make them accountable for payments for the three people spoken about ? If the are going to deny them the right to play where they want to but wont have them at goolwa and they have contracts does this mean they then have to pay them :? :?

There's only really a few possible outcomes...

1. The two clubs come to an agreement on the amount of compensation that be paid, the boys are then cleared to play at Ironbank
2. Goolwa decide not to clear them, theyre contracts stand, the boys are either
a. Play at Goolwa/Pt Elliot where they're obviously not happy
b. Sit out the rest of the season

Dunno why you would want people at your club who don't want to be there, and you wouldnt want them to sit out season so surely the only option is to come to some sort of monetary compensation?! Which is obviously fair enough, I would want to be compensated too.
Or is that a too simple way of looking at it

You would hope for the sake of everyone involved that cooler heads prevail and this is sorted out very quickly so all in sundry can put it behind them and get on to having a good year of footy.

I believe the contacts are not "per week" but in fact "per A Grade game" so if the players are under contract, available and selected I would think they would get paid as per the agreement. Injured players, unavailable players, or players that are not selected to not get paid.

Postby The Yetti » Fri Apr 23, 2010 12:00 pm

The yetti is still too scared to go to sleep in the cave after the rumbles and tumbles last Friday night. As you would all know yetti's sleep on their stomachs. With many stalectites hanging down in the cave, the dislodgement of one or two stalectites can be quite dangerous. The yetti just clenched his cheeks and hoped his body remained safe from any internal probing by a stalectite.

Luckily The yetti remains pure and untouched.

He did venture down the coast to check out what was happening.
Noticed that Yank had some players as big as his relatives.
Saw young Saunders from Victor looking as though he might be playing this week as well as a couple that missed last week.
Was surprised at the numbers at Encounter Bay.
Killed and ate an Emu at Pongy and checked to see if Sampson had increased his number of wins since joining them. Alas it still stands below 5 into his third year as coach.
The yetti then went to Willunga and was suitably impressed with the skill and precision shown by about 55 at training.
Compass, although shrouded in fog, were very quick and skilful, with a good defence
He was most dissappointed at Strath to see that the unlucky red shoes worn by the coach had been discarded.

By the time he reached The creek he needed a red wine or two. A lot of strangers again this year but looked good.
Managed to get to Goolwa where he noticed a lot really nice cars and a mob of lawyers. The yetti thought someone is going to blow a lot of money, and The yetti knows that no-one wins when lawyers get involved

Tigers beat Mclarens 15-11 to 6-6 in a scrappy game of football. 27pts the difference at 3 quarter time and Yank had use of breeze that was going to cricket nets flank in the last quarter..

That result would surprise a few i would reckon. Pongy tough draw early, but probably had pencilled that one in the W column. 0-3 in a pretty even comp, games like that could come back to haunt them. Pressure of expectation can be a big weight to carry.

Zac was brilliant in front of an extremely large and vocal crowd. There was contributers all over the ground for the Maggies, great way to stick it up 'em boys!!

Well done to the 25+ Pongy guys and girls that came up stairs for a drink or two, fantastic day of community football, mate-ship and respect.

Just so I'm clear - Goolwa and GSFL President take South Adelaide to task when the Panthers were reluctant to release Yeomans and Ferguson mid-contract. Then when Goolwa and Tonkin threaten to hold back any aspiring young players from Goolwa from ever going to South, the Panthers play ball and release the kids. Now the same kids want to jump ship from Goolwa, yet Goolwa are refusing to let them go? Surley they can't have it both ways???? Anyone find all this a little hypocritical?

Bunton
lets get a couple of things straight firstly Ferguson had nothin to do with that issue and the second thing is yeomans was cleared to Goolwa prior to going to South and he then told Goolwa he would like to have a crack at league footy which did not work out for him,and South were happy to keep him from playing footy rather than let him go back to the club he was registered at when he came from Port Augusta.South need to have a look at themselves and treat Goolwa the same way they treat all the other clubs in their region as from what i remember South did ok from a young player that played at Goolwa prior to being drafted. You are obviously one of those people that think they know everything about the deals that go on and the contracts that are signed and really you no jack. The difference this time is he is not registered at Ironbank player. When you sit and have a good think about it he should not sign anything as he clearly does not understand what signing a legal document means.
