Heard the same story that Brett Backwell is lining up for TV this weekend. Also heard he rejected a very good offer from Mannum. Must like the facilities better at TV and of course they do have a great coach. I guess that now completely destroys Div 2 football for 2010!

Why didn't TV play in Div1 football this season if they are so strong.

I have heard from someone the B.Backwell has had a shoulder operation - so if this is true and he has signed I would not be expecting to see him playing anytime soon!

Brett Backwell has had a shoulder operation and would be unlikely to be ready before round nine at the absolute earliest, if he had actually signed with Torrens Valley.

No surprises there. Callington had their usual fun and games and politics during the week, as they do. President walked out/was sacked/asked to leave/spat the dummy (choose any one or all of the above). Apparently the coach will be next. This is just not good. Well done to Sedan-Cambrai for their first A Grade win in HFL. Methinks the next round will not be pretty for the Eagles.
Older, wiser and been there. But still love that grassroots country footy.

Any thoughts on what gumeracha did to Wakefield in last quarter against kangarilla ...disgraceful. You wont get away with it all year .Someone will do something or stand up to you who take king hits and small blokes...

Despite what gums supporters think their sniping of kangarilla in the 2nd half today just consolidated everything that other clubs think about them.

Kangys by 4-5 goal over gums

Sniping of Kangy ??......... You cant be serious !!! Both sides were equally ill disciplined but the men in yellow only had eyes for one side in a poor display after half time, even they said the red wasnt deserved but wont resinced it. The guy i question knew he did wrong and was upset by it. Love the attitude of the Kangarilla heroes on the sidelines after the long break, shouting wonderful comments and lovely chatter, continuing the pigheaded arrogant attitude theyve shown since coming back to the HFL. That said. well played to their blokes on the field, they shouldnt have even been a chance given our poor goalkicking but they played well and got the chocies....... Much soul searching done in the Gumeracha rooms tonight and you can be sure that a performance like that wont happen again.

Much will be made of our players and their actions today but it takes 2 to tango, our blokes dont hit for no reason, its just sad people only have eyes for us and not the opposition.

A good second half comeback.
When in front Gums were fine and legally hard at it ,when they got behind or the lead challenged they sniped ,old fashioned belting of small players ,its outside the laws of the game and a disgrace. Ask B Wakefield how he is today ,no memory of the game or two days prior to the game .....................
