Stunned by that diving twat robben

United out on gdiff
Rafael sent off for utd only 5 mins into 2nd half was the killer
Rooney not fit and went off
Berbatov came on but did nothing
United had plenty of chances to put the tie beyond bayern in the 1st half and it ended up costing them but having said that they created 4 good chances in the 2nd half

Ball movement by bayern was a cut above. Very impressive

So no epl side in the semi finals for the 1st time in 8 years and first german side in a semi for 7 years

Cracking goal by Robben.

We were always in trouble once Rafael was sent off, we hardly touched it in the second half. Wayne 'Jesus' Rooney did well to kit up, didn't score but acted as a decoy in at least two of our goals so he did his job. Disappointing end after leading 3-0.

How's Fergies form:

"It was 35 yards from goal," said Ferguson of Rafael's tug on the France international.

"There was no threat and the referee wasn't going to do anything about it until they surrounded him. It is typical of Germans. They are like that."

Ferguson was left bemused by United's exit, with the Red Devils looking in control as they roared into an early lead before losing their way badly.

He added: "It is hard to digest something like that. It was a top performance.

2 things:

1. Bit rich of Fergie having ago at the Bayern players for surrounding the ref. It was his sides that invented the tactic. Can't have your cake and eat it too beetroot face.

2. Less than half the Bayern side is German, so how is it 'Typical Germans'? LMAO

I thought Utd were the better side for 60 mins. Nani was a class above everyone else on the pitch. He was running riot and really should have had a hattrick. Then when Rafael was marched on, Bayern dominated. Robbern is absolutely world class. That finish was as good as you'll see.

While Fergie can say it was a top performance, I really think Utd lost it by not taking their chances. At the beginning of the 2nd half, there were probably 5 clear chances for Utd that weren't taken.

Bayern made something out of very little and that's all she wrote.

So it's Bayern v Lyon and Inter v Barca in 2 weeks.

I've still got a boner over Barca's performance yesterday. I've watched it 3 times.

Fergie does have a point, in that I don't think the ref was going to do anything until the Bayern players went a bit troppo, however, it was a clear intentional foul and when you're already sporting a Yellow then you can't complain about being marched off.

I missed the first half, but even in the 2nd Nani was sensational and as you guys have said, they still had their chances to bury the tie.

Im guessing that (perhaps thanks to Rafael) Ribery was quiet in the first half, because after the sending off he was his usual exceptional self and one of the driving forces behind the Germans resurgence .. Wouldn't surprise me to see him at Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge next season.

Oh and one other thing .. What was the Munich keeper thinking/doing with the first goal???

I watched the Munich/Lyons game
1 MUNICH
0 LYONS

At the 69th minute mark ROBBEN blasts a scorching left foot drive from a distance which beats the goalkeeper
A classy strike
The goalie was wrongfooted
Why ?
Replays show that the drive also hit the back of MULLERs head
MULLER ducked his head to allow the drive and the ball touched his head
This caused a deflection , which wrongfooted the goalie and Goal resulted
The goalie 'appeared' to have the original trajectory covered

QUESTION
Who should have been accredited the goal ?

IMHO Robben mate (dirty little scum sucking trouble making poofta that he is) .. If a ball finds the back of the net via an incidental/accidental touch along the way, then I think the player that last struck the ball intentionally needs to be the scorer.

Otherwise, every time a keeper gets an unsuccessful glove/finger to a ball that goes in most scores would go down as OG's.

Actually, it's simpler than that.

I think the rule is, that if the shot was goal bound before the deflection, then the shooter is credited with the goal.

If the shot was going to miss and the deflection changed the course of the ball into the net, then the player who made the deflection is credited with the goal.

But if the shot was goal bound and another player deliberately changed the course of the ball into the net (as opposed to an unintentional deflection), then they have to go to the centre circle and do three rounds of sumo style wrestling to decide who is credited with the goal ;)

The final will be Bayern V Inter, after Inter went though there 2nd leg tie despitie losing 1-0 in the second leg (inter won 3-2 on agg). Craig Foster must want to kill himself seeing that his bum buddies barca lost despite there best efforts to cheat there way though the match (cause they have never done that before  ) barca players diving and getting motta sent off and scoreing from an offside goal. Just goes to prove what I have always said "who cares if you play entertaining football or not, results are the only things that count".
The problem with Barcelona is that I like fish and chips but they had to turn it into calamari and patatas

Scoring from offside is cheating?

The turn by Pique for his goal was incredible, fantastic bit of play and I think their 2nd was ruled out for handball and it looked like a good decision even though I only saw brief highlights before I came to work.

Jose looked pretty happy at the final whistle.

Jose Mourinho is incredible.

Barca possibly double dutched themselves tonight with the play acting to get Motta sent off and had KARMA come back and bite them on the butt:

Image

Peek a boo - I see you! (Cheating bugger)

I thought the handball was debatable, but academic as Bojan should have put his free header into the back of the net well before that decision.

As for offside on Pique, I'm not so sure. The TV angle was inconclusive, but it looked so close that it would have been understandable if the linesman had called it either way. Outstanding turn and finish though. I thought Cesar was at fault big time for coming out, as it would have been very unlikely he'd be beaten at his near post.

All in all, it was a terrible game to watch with Inter parking the bus. But at the end of the day, they did the business in Milan and did all they were required to do this morning. Well played Jose.

Anyhoo, Inter v Bayern final, where Bayern will be without Ribery.

Inter will start favourites.

Inter did the job in italy, when Barca had to get a bus to take them there. Same shite for Liverpool too, having to drive to Madrid.

Surely the officials could have used common sense and postponed the 1st legs until flights were back on. Barca to Milan isn't as bad as the trip Liverpool had to make. Funnily both sides lost the semis in the 1st leg.
