according to the coaches (early this year) GAJ is number one which we all know anyway, what i thought interesting was who else got votes, the few we think of are in there, here's the list..

GAJ - 7
Reiwoldt - 4
Judd - 3
Brown - 1
Goodwin - 1

what the heck is SIMON GOODWIN doing among that list?!?

which coach do you reckon voted for him???? a joke if you ask me...

Apart from big Browny, I'd say Jimmy Bartel.

Hard as nails and always slogs his guts out.

Jon Brown would be the number 1 player at the moment.

Fair call, if it's possible, I actually reckon Jimmy is underrated in some circles

if Jim was in another side he would be considered as good as Ablett, but he is outshone by GAJ!

a bit the same as Barlow and Silvagni from Freo... Silvagni has been just as solid as Barlow but doesn't get as much of a mention because of Barlow's first few.

I couldn't seperate Brown and Ablett if I had to.

Then Judd, Reiwoldt ( when fit obviously ) with Steve Johnson and Goddard as hard to seperate IMO.

Steve Johnson??? He's been horrible this season. Always saves his best for you blokes though. Ablett behind Juddy? Yeah, four years ago.

Johnson is one of the few blokes in the league capable of having 20+ touches and kicking 5 or 6 goals as a small / mid size forward. not many other blokes have that ability. Yes, he does save his best for us and that is part of the reason he is high on my "players to boo and hiss list" ....... ;)

I have Brown and Ablett ahead of Judd and others but not by much :

Brown
Ablett

Goddarrd, Hayes and Bartel i still believe are all underrated somewhat.

Bartel is a brownlow medallists, but as stated above is underrated IMO and is the one the lifts Geelong with the hard ball gets when the side needs. He takes a damn good over head mark aswell.

I rate Goddard in the top 3 players in the comp for impact over the entire ground. He is the complete player. As seenon the weekend, he can play as the number 1 forward, he can play as a half back flanker that racks up touches, and he can also dominate the midfielder.

Hayes, well he is the borometer of St Kilda. He is just hard as nails and i love the way the bloke goes about his football.

For mine, the best players in the comp are.

Brown
Riewoldt
Goddard
Ablett
Bartel
Hayes
Pavlich
Chapman
Johnson S

And thats in order aswell. People will have a dig at the Ablett place, but he is just not as influential as the other 3 IMO
