Dogs too good, just do the little things better than anyone else. Bays just arent playing well....

Better result than 12 months ago, plenty of time to improve, hopefully

More like better teams dishing it out ! The first 2 games looks to have bred complacency ! The Cocks will be even harder to beat at Jellybean Oval next week !

we played well against norwood - we smashed them which they deserved

against westies we also played well in an even game we got a few lucky breaks - but you gotta take them

sturt - we just didnt show up at all - very very poos

centrals - a far better display then the week before, wouldnt get to disheartened just yet

Went to the game and stood at snouts pocket. Lots of banter and whinging about the umpiring which I thought was unjustified.

It was a good quality game with plenty of good play and not too many turnovers or skill errors. Centrals got well ahead in time on of the first quarter when they kicked four or five unanswered goals.

The Bays clawed their way back in the second and outplayed us for most of the third but couldn't capitalise on the scoreboard.

Dogs did just enough in the final quarter to take home the points.

I was impressed with Ben Kane for the Bays. As posted above, a couple of hangers by Centrals (Dutschke?) were a highlight.

Good win to the Dogs with some of the lesser lights stepping up to the plate to make up for some of those regulars that are missing. Habel, L Westhoff, Lawry, Spurr, Goodrem all making great contributions, whilst the usual suspects in Thomas, Callinan, Buckets & Schell all rock solid.
A game of shifting momentum with both teams guilty of wasting some opportunties to apply scoreboard pressure when they had the momemtum, although ultimately it was the Dogs stunning last 15 minutes of the 1st quarter that did the damage. The Bays always playing catch up after that, but never gave in.
Great grabs from Dutchy & O'Hara were also highlights along with Henderson's huge roost..
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

You're certainly right. We aren't playing well after 2 good performances to start the year. We have played 2 sides that will play finals footy and lost both of them. Godden's got the Hybrids looking sharp, and the Cocks aren't playing bad footy either. This year is looking very interesting for SANFL football. Let's hope the Bays peak at the right time of the year !

The southern end of Gliderol Stadium was akin to the Bermuda Triangle with both sides struglling to score goals down that end. Centrals kicked 11.1 at the northern end and 3.11 at the southern end!

First quarter started with Glenelg dominating but unable to buy a goal. We then get a goal against the flow before Glenelg kicked the next three. The last 10 minutes of the quarter was classic Centrals as they slammed on the next 6 goals to take a commanding 24 point lead at quarter time.

Second quarter was quite even, but Centrals kicking down to the Bermuda Triangle kicked a wasteful 1.7 while Glenelg kicked 4.2 to reduce the margin to 5 points at half time. The game got a bit heated in the second quarter with a Glenelg player reported and Dutschke running around in a half torn guernsey. A couple of minutes later, he takes a mark, and a Glenelg player rips the guernsey right off him. He took the subsequent 25m penalty and kick shirtless, which delighted the female supporters at the ground!

The third quarter was once again quite even, but this time it was Glenelg being wasteful in front of goal, with even simple shots being sprayed badly. There was some brilliant plays by Centrals with O'Hara taking a massive screamer infront of the northern stand. Centrals then kicked a couple of late goals, including a great running goal from Henderson to see the margin back out to 17 points at three quarter time.

Centrals then managed 2 great goals down at the Bermuda Triangle to have the lead out as much as 27 points halfway through the last quarter. Glenelg, to their credit, never gave up, and kicked the last couple of goals. However, time ran out and Centrals prevailed by 10 points.

Thought the umpiring was terrible in general personally. Thought we where lucky again to be as close as we where at the end of it, both teams missed some easy goals, our pressure in patches was better but overall not good enough, too many times centrals players where loose goalside of the play in there forward lines and the player that stays out in the centre clearances was left to get easy kicks all day. Centrals did a great job of clogging up the ground and stopping any run out of defence and we seemed to second guess ourselves way too much, when in doubt why not go long??? The constant handball to the player running past without even turning around to see what's happening is very predictable and annoying to watch. Why not turn around and have a look yourself instead of putting the player you handball to under more pressure. Positives where Killer and Addlington down back where awesome, Mills was good, Cranston and Ty Allen always put in and J Carr was handy. Time will tell if Mickan finally drops a few name players that have had poor games over the last two weeks or he just keeps rewarding players with games because they have played well in the past.

I have had alot of beers and bundy red labels my thoughts

1. Glenelg in trouble if they cant beat a Central side on their home deck missing Gowans, Cochrane, Havelberg, Hayes, Boyd, M.Westoff

2. Jenner and Williams playing really well at the moment

3. Habel = Gun had 3 last possesion assists.

4. Little Italian looking umpire nearly ruined a very good game of football no favourtism just 5hitehouse both ways

5. L.Westoff played alright but definatly struggles at the contested ball really bad.

6. Henderson is getting better with every game, offers a contest every single inside 50

7. Ben Kane ripped us a new one today.

8. Holdfast hotel does a really good $10 schnitzel

9. UKFan is always right

10. Lairdy proved coaches in shorts can win SANFL games.

Agree with the highlighted bit. The better team won today. However I don't think the Bays did as badly as others believe. There were periods when Glenelg had the ascendancy and the Bays did well to fight back into the game after Central had established a decent lead. Also did well to run the game out. In the end Central's skills are much more polished than Glenelg's and that may have been the difference. When Central got some space and ran the ball they looked perfect. In the clinches I think the Bays more than held their own. Was an enjoyable game to watch despite the result.

the difference today (from glenelgs pov) was 6 goals in about 10 minutes late in the first term, i'll add that while glenelg threw everything at them for the majority of the game after that centrals know how & belief got them over the line as they scored a goal everytime we got close, for us i was happy with the effort, committment etc, the thing that 'frightens' me is the central back (first pick) 3 or 4 players weren't there, a couple of great marks today, the only mistake central made today was the time josh willoughby kicked a goal....it was an ordinary wobbly kick that bounced through because no one was on the goal line  i thought schell was clearly centrals best for the game he played on kirkby, for us there isn't any player that stood out but i thought carr was probably our best over 4 quarters....as for the umpiring well while the was a couple of blues made it was a lot lot better than last weeks debacle & i thought it was good that they let the game go & run free

central too good

That's Glenelg's forte ... beating up on teams who are already down. They've been like that for decades, but no good when the heat is on. Culture.
