Yep all the windows at my joint shook for several seconds. I was asleep and woke up during the event and had no idea what the hell was going on. Was looking for my Golf clubs in the dark ready to belt the bejusus out of some crazed intruder :?

My missus reckons she saw a flash of light just before the house shook. she thought something had crashed nearby. i said dont be silly and went back to bed muttering to myself and saying the aliens were here.

I have been in at least 10 earthquakes bigger than the only earthquake I'd experienced in Adelaide (about 1977 there was a pretty good one that lasted about 5 seconds one night, everyone was buzzing about it at school the next day).
One of my favourites was when I had a business trip to Miyazaki. I got completely hammered the night before, I set my mobile phone alarm for the next day at around 8:00. I slept right through the alarm and awoke with a huge hangover at around 1:30pm. My mobile phone was on the floor and I thought that perhaps I'd left it on manner mode and it vibrated off the table and landed on the floor, hence it didn't wake me. I noticed some other stuff on the floor also, and thought that perhaps I'd been real sloppy the night before.
I got into the office around 3:00pm trying hard to give the impression that I'd been searching for potential company appartments and researching utilities and bus routes for future reference by any new foriegners working for the company. My head was still splitting from the hard night of drinking, but I gave a pretty good performance for the secretaries.
Until they asked about the earthquake.
I had no idea what they were talking about, and I was a little too hungover to improvise very well so I tried to wave it off like it was nothing. Apparently it was a biggie, some older buildings fell over, the office shook from side to side like a mean kid shaking a fish tank, people were screaming and running for exits, and it all happened at about 12:30pm. In a hard working country like Japan it was a little too hard for them to conceive that I'd slept through the entire thing, and had just been talking out my butt about my morning's activities. They were a little lost to understand what my story was.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Quite noticeable at Redwood Park, initial thought was a strong wind but when the house shook, my mind told me Earth tremor.
The dog went mental along with every other neighbourhood pooch.

I spoke to both Mal and bayman today but at this stage none is claiming responsibility, although Mal claimed he predicted it ... but then again he said the Bays would win by 50+ points against the Doggies today when they were 3 goals to 1 up in the first quarter.
