Bridgewater, despite their massive recruiting again this year, got beaten by Lobethal today by a small margin.

Surely they have to be the laughing stock of the comp once again? Or have Lobethal improved heaps from the last 3 years?

I think Loby have improved no doubt and well done to them. I think a culture has been well and truly cemented at Bridgewater and from what I hear they are going about it the wrong way to make things better. Apparently there are B graders getting paid money just to get the numbers on the track. I can't make sense of this at all.

Hahaha, you guys always like to make a "story" out of nothing!!
I can guarantee that TJ resigned due to him getting a new job and not being able to give the amount of time that he would like to coaching Birdwood.

He will still be involved around the club, time permitting, and if you knew TJ, then you would know he wouldn't take this decision lightly.
He had full support of the club, committee and players and we were all looking forward to another year with him at the helm so hopefully that squashes your "rumours".

Birdwood were lucky to have a good assistant in Matt Krieg who is willing to step up and take the reins.

Should be a good year for the Roosters and we are looking forward to coming up against TV in 2011 if another div 1 club makes room for them!!

Story is a bit old by now but I can absolutely confirm that TJ left due to work commitments and was shattered to have to give it away. On a positive side for him, he can finally watch his 2 lads running around for Norwood U18s and Reserves for the first time in his life.
Good luck to Birdwood for this season.

Wouldn't say they have improved over the past 3 years, more so this off season with a few handy players coming in.

What is going on at Raider Arena?

I wouldn't say the last 3 years, more so this off season.

Lobethal have definatly improved from what i saw but bridegwater didnt do themselves any favours. No b grade players are getting paid and if an a grade contracted player plays b grade for some reason thay wouldnt be paid either. so no sure where you got thaat info form.?

Quite a reliable source being a paid player from Bridgewater advised me of this information. Apparently so many players are on money (probably not massive amounts) that they all wouldn't fit into the first 21. Why? Its the only question I ask. Is it just to improve numbers on the track because that isn't a good culture to develop.

How did new recruit Smith perform? I expected to see him in the goals, did he end up playing down back? Where would the majority of you guys see Ironbank finishing this year?

interesting to hear the big O on 5mu sat morning..

promo /demotion for 2011 is defiantaely on..

T Valley have applied for central div..

therefore the bottom side in central will have to go down as the constitution say the comps are to be 10 teams each..if this was to be altered the constituion would ahve to be changed..

No wonder Lobe/bridgi are spending up big..

Yeah from what I hear it goes on the combined success of all grades... like that ladder that's in the budget, i forget what it's called.

Will be interesting, you could theoretically have an A grade side who finishes 4th or 5th but their other teams are terrible go down a division. i understand it's a sliding scale of points but it could theoretically happen.

Played full forward till late in the first quarter, then came out to CHF. Didn't know a lot of the players early but settled in and had a good second half, was nemed fifth best.

If it is based on the whole club then I guess you can rule out Mt Barker, Blackwood, Hahndorf and Mt Lofty due to their juniors being strong. Uraidla obviously as well due to their seniors. Not sure what Birdwoods juniors will be like this year but are usually pretty good too. Onkas usually finish around the middle in all grades so they should be safe also. So it will be Lobethal, Ironbank and Bridgewater in the mix to go down. Do we know how much weight is given to the showing of the juniors? As it is obviously only early but if these 3 teams finish around each other in the seniors then thats what it will come down too. Anyone know how these 3 sides are shaping up in the colts? As none have been strong in recent seasons.

Can anyone give us a bit of an update on the Lofty v Barker game.

How did the new blokes look? Are the devs going to be in the mix this year? Where were they lacking?

I thought they may get over the roos, looks like a pretty good side on paper. Maybe just missing a few talls.

On that note, is Buckets a chance to return from Sturt?
