Wedgie and Father's team: 2 wins 2 losses and 2 wins by forfeit.
Adelaide Airport are now sitting in the Top 4 of Div 4 W.
Great game, thoroughly enjoying myself especially on days like today when its cooler and Mrs Wedgie drops me off so I can have a beer every 2nd end.

To tell the truth I don't even know if there are finals, don't even have a clue when the season ends, hope it doesn't get near footy season.
5th team is right on our clacker too.

Yeah but most night owls are at night and not on Sundays.

Most clubs play Sundays during the winter and I was looking forward to continuing to play during footy season until I saw the bloody fixture that came out and had so many Sunday games.

Shits me, keep the games on Sat arvo and that way people can work out their other interests around that (for eg when I took up playing footy in 1995 I purposely played Southern C grade so I'd always play on Sundays and be able to watch all North games). With games all over the shop it really puts out people who want to plan something else with their lives during footy season. :(

That said, surely the Sunday games allow for more people who actually play the same sport, to attend it?

Disagree, perhaps if every game was on a Sunday fair enough, having games on different days means people can't plan anything.
As I said before, I was desperate to play footy and I was desperate to see North every week, I could do it when games were played on a Saturday arvo as I just found a comp that was played on a Sunday like any fanatical SANFL fan would have.
In 2007 I wouldn't be able to play footy, If I played on Sundays I'd miss 8 odd games. If I played on Saturdays I'd miss 12 odd games.
Lose/Lose situation.
If people play on Saturday's themselves at the expense of seeing their SANFL they're obviously not that desperate or passionate IMHO, the sad fact of things is this is who the SANFL is now catering for, ie the bandwagonners. Didn't work in the mid 90s, won't work in the mid 00s either. Short memories.

Back to the topic, there are finals for lawn bowls in the higher grades, but not the lower grades when it comes to penants, that's good as the comp ends mid March. I should only miss a trial game or two.;)

Contradicted yourself Mr Wedge....your missing trial games for Lawn Bowls?

So anyone who loves playing footy but also loves the SANFL should disregard playing so they can watch their team? even though when they retire from playing they have many years ahead of doing this?

I followed the SANFL religiously for 10+ years, and by that I mean attended, but then when I was playing Senior footy the only games I got to see were the odd Friday night or Sunday game .. When I then quit playing it's been back to religious attendance.

I would imagine I'm not the only bloke who has followed this pattern.

Dunno about contradicting myself but I don't get to trial games religiously, although this year I did get to Darwin for one so that's not a bad effort. Went to Darwin but didn't go to Elizabeth.
Also, depending on when the trials are, might still be able to get there or organise a fill in.
Don't have to give up footy, just play on Sunday's or early on Saturday's, the comps are there if you're passionate enough to see your team. I wouldn't have considered playing on Saturdays when I took the game up, North supporters do set high standards though. ;)
