Why you'd stack your backlines with a 19-point 1/2 time lead is beyond me, but it looked like North reverted to a more normal structure after Sturt caught up. Could a North supporter please tell me I'm wrong or is Healy 'too AFL' in his thinking?

North play the same style all the time but it looks completely different when it comes off as to when it doesn't.

I went yesterday with a Sturt mate. So had to go for North obviously. I thought the crowd seemed reasonable.

North looked like they wanted it more IMHO. Wasnt a 10/10 performance from the roosters but Im sure the coaching staff would of had some serious question mid week to the leadership group. And I think Mr Healy and co. would be quite happy with what they saw. It could be a good starting point to build on for the NAFC for season 2010.

Sturt same as last week. Look good in patches but seem to take a while to get going. They certainly had a go and looked capable just didnt maintain it for long enough.

I thought Giles was OK and the umpiring was terrible. HOnestly the amount of times I turned to my Sturt mate and had to concede "no idea what was that was for" was concerning.

Comment of the day from a North fan near the scoreboard. Regarding Sturt's off season signings of Hassan Hinge and Giles "you can sprinkle glitter on a turd and try and make it look pretty. But deep down its still a turd". Even my Sturt mate laughed.

Alleway and Gill were the difference.

Good game of football ruined by the umps I thought.

It was always going to take a little while to remove whatever the Crows did to him. Good to see he's back to being a star like he was before that mob got their hands on him. :D

Im not sure who gave the best players for North but Allan 7th best and Ryswyk 2nd best on ground
-Allan was in the best 3 with Alleway and Gill.

I must have been at a different game  :D

Regardless of the order Ryswyk deserved to mentioned in the best players. Maybe not top three but very close.

BUT...The most disappointing thing about today apart from losing was that all spectators lost an opportunity to witness a high scoring shootout between 2 teams that were on the attack from the opening bounce. Once the whistles came out and players started to have doubts about what they could and couldn't do any hope of having a classic game was dashed.

Well played North. Pick up your game Blues.

Boo to the umpires of the SANFL in 2010 so far. Until you give the paying public a clear reason for your decisions then this booing will continue, or the crowds will gradually disappear, or both.

I might give the AFL a go tonight :(

After watching the first quarter and a half of the V/AFL game tonight, I've decided that our umpires are now on a par with theirs. What a disgrace...what is our world coming to? I don't like this game so much at the moment.
