Hence why Dan Christian is in the side.

Definitely did. McDonalds bowling is a touch superior in the shorter form, but Chrisitans hitting is FAR superior then McDonalds batting, plus christian is a terrific fielder!

Medium-pace bowler Juan Theron is the only uncapped player in South Africa's 15-member squad for the ICC World Twenty20 tournament. The squad also marks a return for Cape Cobras' Rory Kleinveldt, who last played for South Africa in a Twenty20 match against Bangladesh in 2008.

Graeme Smith, who was forced to return home from the IPL after sustaining a finger injury, has recovered and will lead the team. However, Wayne Parnell and Justin Kemp, who also picked up injuries during the tournament, were not considered for selection.

Squad: Graeme Smith (capt), Jacques Kallis (vice-capt), Loots Bosman, Johan Botha, Mark Boucher (wk), AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Herschelle Gibbs, Rory Kleinveldt, Charl Langeveldt, Albie Morkel, Morne Morkel, Dale Steyn, Juan Theron, Roelof van der Merwe.

The uncapped Hampshire batsman, Michael Lumb, has been named in England's 15-man squad for the World Twenty20 in the Caribbean next month, while Craig Kieswetter has been named as the sole wicketkeeper in the party, ahead of the current Test and ODI incumbent, Matt Prior.
There is also a recall for Ravi Bopara, who has not featured for England since last summer's Ashes but has been starring for Kings XI Punjab in the IPL, as well as the Sussex and former England Lions captain, Michael Yardy, whose slow-left arm spin and innovative middle-order batting could well find a role on the sluggish Caribbean surfaces.

Squad Paul Collingwood (capt), James Anderson, Ravi Bopara, Tim Bresnan, Stuart Broad, Craig Kieswetter, Michael Lumb, Eoin Morgan, Kevin Pietersen, Ajmal Shahzad, Ryan Sidebottom, Graeme Swann, James Tredwell, Luke Wright, Michael Yardy

Shahid Afridi, the captain of Pakistan's squad for the World Twenty20, believes that not being selected to play in the IPL is a "blessing in disguise" for his players. "No I don't have any regrets at all. In a way it is a blessing in disguise for all our players that we are not playing in the IPL before the World Cup," Afridi told PTI.

"Given the problems that have besieged Pakistan cricket in recent months it is good that we have got time to work together as a team in the World Cup training camp, it has allowed us to settle down and focus on the World Twenty20," Afridi said.

Good looking squad we have here. There's alot of firepower there with both bat and ball. Don't think Lee will play though, Ryan Harris is so unluckly. I'm devo he's not in the squad

With Brett Lee now injured with a fractured thumb will the selectors replace him in the squad with Harris or even Bollinger?

Pakistan continue to be dogged by injury concerns in the lead-up to their defence of the World Twenty20 crown, as Umar Gul remains a doubtful starter for the tournament that begins in the West Indies from April 30.

Gul, who was Pakistan's top wicket-taker in the previous editions of the tournament, is yet to recover from a shoulder injury he sustained during the team's rigorous preparatory camp in Lahore.

Gul is currently the leading wicket-taker in Twenty20 cricket, with 43 wickets in 26 matches, and he was a key factor in Pakistan's victory in the 2009 edition. He is not the only player struggling for fitness - batsmen Umar Akmal and Fawad Alam are nursing injuries while allrounder Yasir Arafat is laid low by a calf strain.

Phew, either of them would suffice, I'd even prefer to see Merv Hughes in there.

Pakistan's ongoing preparations for the ICC World Twenty20 received a boost in Lahore, where Umar Gul bowled his first overs in a week as he began his recovery from an injury that had threatened to - and still might ultimately - rule him out of the tournament in the West Indies.

Australia go to the World Twenty20 desperate to improve on their first-round exit in last year's event in England. Nielsen has used Michael Sholly, a club coach in Victoria, to act as a scout on opposition players during the IPL.

''We've been playing so much that it was difficult for us to keep an eye on things in the IPL while we were in New Zealand,''

WTF?? Hard to keep an eye on the IPL??? Give me a break that is piss weak
