Great to see Thurgood back in the side. Hopefully the big blood nut can dominate.
I'd like to see Jezza actually play up forward this week too. He played across the centre against Centrals.

Email from the WWT Club re Port Game:

"Well, it’s our turn this weekend to host you here at Woodville Oval in our match versus the Port Adelaide Magpies. This is the only time that Port Adelaide comes to Woodville Oval in 2010 and with their well documented struggles over the off season we are expecting a good showing from their supporters.

This is one of the reasons we are writing today; Our Club needs as many of our people here as we can possibly get so we implore you, if you are not headed away for Easter, to get to Woodville Oval this Saturday and potentially see your own slice of SANFL Football history as well as the dawning of a new era for the Club that you support. BLAH, BLAH BLAH..."

It seems they are implying that their supporters should come and watch the last ever match of the Magpies at Woodville. If the case, I reckon it's pretty ordinary, but then if you've got no supporters, you'll say anything to boost attendances!

He sounds petrified that Port supporters are going to outnumber Eagles fans.
I can;t make it this week, but I hope Magpies fans are out in force!

It does appear as though they are pleading for fans to come along, but why? The Eagles have much to look forward to this year IMO and they should have all of their loyal fans there on Saturday.

But if you divvy that up between Woodville and West Torrens, it's a pretty low number relative to everyone else!

New Season, new coach, new jumper .. plenty of history right there.

A note for those coming.

As mentioned the scoreboard gate is closed, the road along the cityside of the oval is having road works.
BUT there gate in the south eastern (City) pocket will be open instead.

The EAGLES COMMUNITY GROUP OF THE DAY is the Metro Junior Football Clubs in both the Eagles and Port zones.

The 10 of the 11 MWJFL clubs are with either Port or the Eagles so this is a joint promotion for all supporters with the junior competition kicking off next Sunday (April 11)

We will have respresentatives from Woodville South (Eagles) plus Rosewater (Port) and North Haven (Port)
with a FREE EASTER EGG GIVEAWAY for the kids and a handball target to test your skills with.
All welcome (both Port and Eagle supporters).

It will be in the cricket club pocket.

You're so vain, I bet you think this email is about you...

I believe the "slice of SANFL football history" they are referring to is the chance to see the first game of the attitude era of the Eagles, or something...
