Only going by what is up on the HFC Central thread, they commented on some blokes being sent off, if that's being commented about quite harshly we will cop that!

Having said that, it was disappointing to have some of our players sent off and none of their blokes (Despite one of our blokes having been scratched pretty badly across the face).

The Game deteriorated after a lot of our good tackling going unrewarded, some blokes for both teams unfortunatley got a bit carried away, oddly enough only pooraka players were sent from the field??

It was a however a pretty rugged game played largely in the right spirits, there were a few incidents, but in the main a pretty good hit out for both clubs, the two fella's that umpired the game should really have a look at themselves, not one to bag ump's but it was not the best display, somewhat biased and lacklustre and even taking into consideration one of them was a younger bloke, they want to umpire a game, let it evolve, not control it, so i hope they only get better.

oh and i think you'd find that Birdwood got home by four goals, with some bloke from pooraka missing three sitters in the last qtr!!
Sorry people I only deal in facts!

Blokes sent off in a trial game! Seriously, anyone who can't handle the situation in a trial has no hope of being disciplined during the real season. No excuses about umpires, individuals make the decision to fight - and if your temper gets the better of you in a trial game might be time to think about retiring. Times are changing boys, like it or not, their is no room for violence at any level of footy anymore. So don't blame the umpires, we have all put up with some shockers at every level of footy, but an excuse to fight and get sent off? Nope, that's the players decision.

Agreed. That's not a good sign and pretty poor self control on the players part. Anything other than friendly banter on the field indicates a player who has no clue about what a trial game is about and needs to pull his head in. Fighting in a trial game - ridiculous!

You would think Mitchell will play, would have to getting on in age wouldn't he!! Has he ever trained too hard. You know that TV show King of Queens well Mitch is King of excuses!! ;)

Played with that Shayne Mitchell character down at the bays back in 1992. Can't imagine he is still playing, considering i'm now a grandfather. Aparently he has signed some joker by the name of Barry Burgess. Reports indicate he knows where the big perpendiculars are.

wow you played with him back then, was he always so short and stocky??? that must have been in the mini league or samboy cup??? Mitch would only be 35 or so... he is still so fit and moves very well, but i suppose if you look at his hair he does certainly look a bit older.. :D but we wouldnt know what thats like now would we "Duke"

For the last time, not sure who barry is But BRETT Burgess will be lining up for the roys this year. and in his two trials i think it is fare to say he knows where the big sticks are, but also there a few new recruits that im very excited about..

Should bring the grand kids down mate, very nice family club, always welcomes new members!!!

Watched the Greenacres vs PHOS Camden trial at Kilburn tonight.... Greenacres. still missing 4 or 5 key players went down by 3 points. I know it was only a trial but gave a real good indication of where they are at. Come on you Dragons!!!

Only penalty would be that your coach thinks you're a fool who can't control their temper and be disciplined......
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

Not too many I wouldn't have thought these days OE. You just cant afford to have a loose cannon in your team like that.... And I definitly wouldn't put up with it !

well we all know what umpires are like these days and apparently swearing is worth 10 mins in the bin, you cant be to angry as a coach if a player gets sent off for that or, i seen a while back now a bloke trying to brake up a blue, he got between them and was pushing them both away and he was the only one to get sent off, thats what i mean by the sittuation of it.

I heard 6 got sent off from Pooraka and they finished the game with 16-17 players.
Anton Railey sent off in Poorakas last two trial games.
When will he learn?
