Can Port come back after the sad loss or will the Eagles take the points in the battle of the birds.

Sad loss? 11 points to the reigning premier on their home turf for a side many expect to finish bottom isnt too "sad" IMO.

But a loss is a loss, it would be disappointing, I would have thought that it would have been a little sad, for you lot anyway.

Booney's trying to get you to bite ME.Booneys a nice guy IMHO. ;)
Anyway trial game form is a bit missleading at the start of the year .Two teams the Eagles beat West thrashed North and the other side South drew with Sturt in yesterdays games .
I'm interested in Ports game style .
If 6'000 Port fans will show up be a bit tight at the Fortress if they do with how many of us showing up 3'000 to 4'000.
A new Coach A new Jumper A new game Style A new feeling around the club. This could bring back a few Eagles fans who dropped off under the old regime .
Don't get me wrong Booney I'll be there listening to and joining in with the cheer squad just to welcome our old neighbours into the ground.
My TIP the FORTRESS will have a few victims this year !!
March Premiers no way October finalists hell yeah

OH yeah 2010 the ATTITUDE ERA OF THE EAGLES !!!

I expect this to be a tough battle. Would Brett Burton be ready to play this one for the Eagles. I'm sure all the Magpie faithful have fond memories from his game against them at the same venue last season.

For all that are going to this game, just had a message from the Club stating that the normal ticket booth on Koolunda Avenue (Eastern side of the ground) will not be open due to Council works.......... Enter through Oval Avenue or through corner of Koolunda Avenue and Glen Lossie street.

Hey Sleeping giant you don't need to read every Eagle post mate ;) (seeing they have dropped off must be posting on our own site ;) )
Its a new Eagles outfit Sleeping Giant don't believe me come to the game Saturday and get CD to sign you up .Be much better than following whoever you do .Seeing you wont put your SANFL team up as hwo you follow.

Eagles Email re port game
You will have no doubt kept an eye on the SANFL results of Round 1 and seen some extremely good crowds at all of the grounds that held matches.

Well, it’s our turn this weekend to host you here at Woodville Oval in our match versus the Port Adelaide Magpies. This is the only time that Port Adelaide comes to Woodville Oval in 2010 and with their well documented struggles over the off season we are expecting a good showing from their supporters.

This is one of the reasons we are writing today; Our Club needs as many of our people here as we can possibly get so we implore you, if you are not headed away for Easter, to get to Woodville Oval this Saturday and potentially see your own slice of SANFL Football history as well as the dawning of a new era for the Club that you support.

If you haven’t already redeemed the voucher you received for your 2010 members scarf, you can do so at the Woodville Oval office reception area on Saturday. Our 2010 merchandise range will be on sale at a new location – at the front of the Barry Jarman Grandstand.

Everyone at the Club is ready and raring to go and with your support are looking forward to a successful season both on and off the ground.

Entrance into the ground will be via the ticket gate on Oval Avenue or the ticket gate at the corner of Koolunda Avenue and Glen Lossie Street. Please note that the normal entrance on Koolunda Avenue will be closed due to road and kerbside works; you will not be able to park on Koolunda Avenue until after 1pm on Saturday due to these works - we apologise on the Council’s behalf for any inconvenience.

Should you have any queries please contact the Club on 8347 2444.

Interesting looking Eagles line-up. No McKenzie which is a huge loss. I note with interest that there's no Burton or Knights either. That would mean that either they have been picked by the Crows or still not fit. Good to see Welsh back in the side but how long can we keep him fit for this time.

I would suggest that because there are games on Thursday, the Advertiser has requested sides from each SANFL club so they can be printed in tomorrow's paper.

I would think the Crows will still have another training session tomorrow or Friday where it will be decided if Knights and Burton play against the Swans or locally with the Eagles.

I wouldn't expect that to be the final Eagles side that lines up and wont be supirsed to see both the Crows boys above line up in the yellow jumper on Saturday at Woodville.

A strong looking team on paper. No Rimington, Allmond or Polec which is a bit of a surprise (unless they're injured).

Look forward to seeing how it all goes on Saturday.
