Update on Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority

ADELAIDE OVAL SMA LTD (“SMA”) wishes to respond to recent comments concerning alleging a failure on its part to keep the South Australian public aware of progress of its activities since its incorporation.

The SMA was incorporated shortly before Christmas 2009 and empowered by Government to reach an agreement by July 1st 2010, bringing together football and cricket into a newly developed Adelaide Oval Stadium. The Authority commenced work in early January 2010.

The SMA is comprised of representatives of the South Australian National Football League and the South Australian Cricket Association, both of which, as major sporting bodies, are apolitical in nature, the SMA Board deemed it inappropriate some weeks ago to make any public statement or comment concerning the progress of its activities until after the recent State election.

The SMA intends to provide an overview of activities and progress of the work being carried out on the Adelaide Oval Redevelopment within several weeks following the formation of the new Government.

So they've had a meeting to form a committee? I'll be interested in what excuse they come up with as to why the pin gets pulled on this in a few months.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

No, a considerable amount of work has occurred to reach an agreement. Both SACA and SANFL are 'throwing the house' at this project. My tip is that it will go through.

Don't blame me, I voted Liberal.
Mind you, on a 2 party preferred basis so did most of South Australia.

I just wanted a new football stadium as did the majority of SA looking at the vote.
I'm not immature enough to treat political parties like football teams I barrack for but it does concern me that those stupid enough to do so have the right to vote.
If the Labor party were for a new stadium and the Libs were for a hospital in the worst possible spot and a proposed Adelaide Oval which might never happen I would have voted Labor.
I don't care which party gets in (I'll be voting for Labor federally if Tony Abbot is the choice) if they do the right thing so you can save your childish nyah nyah nyah for those that do or wait till your Footy team beats mine this year.

It wont go through - Labour has a track record of not being able to budget - When they look at their coffers and find the budget will blow out even further than the 240 Million it all ready looks like doing, they will make either the SACA or SANFL look like the reason the project doesnt go ahead.

Stay at Footy Park and save the money for a seated stadium beyond 2014 when the gerrymander is rectified by the electoral office.

Not even the Liberal Party would suggest there is a gerrymander in SA, MB.

A gerrymander is a deliberate unfair drawing of electoral boundaries.

We had a gerrymander in Tom Playford's days when Labor lost with 54.5% of the vote.

The Legislative Council in those days was almost always 16 to 4, Liberal majority.

That was a gerrymander.
