saw it at Lord's...its pretty underwhelming

Saw it today. Found it one of those things that was hard to stop looking at. The pther parts of the exhibition were great also, like WG Graces bat from 1880 where he made 156 against Australia, and Billy Murdochs bat from 1882(?) next to it.

From what I saw it all went very smoothly this morning. We got there at 7:15, and were in the ground (members) by 8:15 and got great seats right alongside the race where the players go up. I heard that people who arrived there around 8 when gates opened were also in before 9:00, even though there was a long lineup at that stage. My guess is that all seats were gone in the members some time around 9:30am. The security guys only had a very brief look in my bag - the bigger delay was everyone putting their tickets through the machines, rather than the security part.

I suspect that the hype will slowly die down day by day so you will be able to leave things a bit later by Sunday. It all depends on what seats you want as to what time you need to get there.

PS If you see a couple of nerds in the members recording every ball of the Test in a scorebook, that is me and May-Z!

yep i got there about 8 with my cousin in the line from about 7:50am @ the Vic Richardson gates around 5 past 8 hes ringing me in a state of Panic as I had the tickets and hes less than 50m from the gates. by the time we got inside round 8:30 most of the seats were gone under cover so we went out the back and scored a table near the bar and stayed there most of the day

got there about 10.30 and was wall to wall (members). as busy as I have ever seen it.

got a nice table out the back under the shade and had a few* beers.

had a few vinos with lunch.

had a look at the cricket.

then moved to the bar in the bradman stand and got a corker spot at the window with a table on which to rest the beers.

then went up to the queens head. that had a bigger line up than the cricket (tip: if you want to get in there go up 5 overs before the close of play)

had a curry at beyond india. tried to engage a pom who was sitting on his own in some friendly banter. he left.

i now have a hangover and would still be in bed but for the fact of a 2 y.o running around madly.

looking fwd to a slower day today.

never seen the members so packed, for the first 10 overs it was 5-6 deep in the standing area, after 11 overs that was the scene at the bar and only 1-2 deep watching the cricket.

3 big screens out the back and plasmas in all the bars were great, overall they handled the crowd well ....great to see them put Sky Channel on the plasma in the chappell bar

From what i've heard yesterday was the biggest crowd in Adelaide for over 30 years. 31,000 plus i think.
