The first quarter was a tight affair with Centrals taking a 6 point lead going into quarter time. The second quarter was all Centrals as they extended that lead to 30 points at half time. Highlight of the night occurred in the second quarter when Henderson kicked a great goal from an impossible angle.

Port rebounded in the third quarter, and the lead was reduced to 2 goals at three quarter time. The last quarter started well for Centrals with 2 quick goals. The Port got the next two and it was back to 2 goals half way through the quarter. The two sides then traded goals with Centrals coming out 11 point winners.

Dogs did enough. Port fans terrible. More Power gear than magpies from those who did rock up.

BEST FOR DOGS: Hayes Callinan Mckenzie Goodrem Jenner Habel Williams

MAJOR GOAL KICKERS: Henderson Callinan 3 Habel 2

Great first qtr by both sides hard footy, Port blew it in the second qtr doggies up by 5 goals at half time, lost M. Westhoff and then Jimmy Gowser, Port came back hard in the third but not good enough in the end, not a bad effort by the dogs considering still 4 key players to come back, pretty good crowd i am guessing close to 6,000, SANFL real footy, hard at at it and still alive great footy by both sides, young Lindsay( 45 ) for Port only 18 yrs old will definetly be drafted to AFL next year.

I thought Nash had a very good game. I see that Eddie was named in the best players in the Sunday Mail, for me he was dissapointing

birdman, I was pleasantly suprised with how well he played, very good in the full back position...

Showed discipline to spoli from behind and laid some very strong tackles, a good first up performance and great effort from the Smithfield lad considering he was dropped from the reserves side a couple of times back to the U18's last season...

Even Daniel Schell commented on LifeFM's call of the game that he was really impressed with Damian's league debut...

Good contest, horribly over-umpired. Fair to say it was over-umpired in 'bucket-fuls'!

ST...

p.s. FWIW, #23 for Port played a good 'first game' on O'Hara. Kept him well and truly quiet on the night...

Started off at half back and seemed to read the ball well, providing some good run...

He did drift up forward a couple of times but got caught holding the ball on the odd occasion as well...

Was his first competitive hit-out for 2010 after a groin issue I think so all in all not too bad...

I actually called the stats for the Dogs reserves and I don't remember calling his name too much....

Maybe had a dozen disposals and a couple of marks. Also spent some time on the bench as well...

Only a crowd of 5,031 which i thought was quite disappointing from Magpie fans, after all the fanfare and publicity regarding the possible demise of the Maggies i thought they would of been at the game in droves, the diehard fans that are their every week made an effort, once again where are all the so called supporters. I was predicting a crowd of say 6,000 to 10,000. What do other footy followers think ?????

It all goes back to my argument, either you follow the Magpies or follow the Power, fans have not got enogh cash to follow 2 clubs, so this year could be the last of the mighty Magpies.

Cameron Cloke:

7 kicks
5 handballs
6 marks
2 tackles
11 hit outs
3 clearances
2 inside 50's
3 goals 1

Not too bad in my opinion, has a big imposing frame but drifted too much in and out of the game
