Whilst not condoning any backchat or otherwise toward the orange machines, surely in a trial game, a quiet word in the offender's ear gets much more respect and understanding than "The March of the Siamese Twins" to the boundary line with the yellow plastic being waved to the crowd not unlike a clown in the Xmas Pageant.
FGS, you're only a small part of the game, not all of it, so stop trying to impose yourself on all and sundry.
Thank Chr*$t you're not a policeman, everyone would be locked up if you had your way.
Footnote, maybe footy umps could take a leaf out of the same book as soccer & rugby refs, take the offender to one side for a quiet chat and do it as a colleague or peer, not as a schoolteacher or cop.

i reckon there are 2 umpires atm that believe they are bigger and more important than wat they are.. Understand your role, ppl dont roll up to see an umpiring display. ppl commend an umpire when they arent noticed at all. Your not on TV and in the Afl. Amazing how an umpire changes when they get a couple of Div 1 GF gigs, even walk around before the game with the swagger of a rock star! give it a break.
Ace, was a fair spray number12 was giving yest tho..

Winger, it may well have been a huge spray but............... take him aside, let him know that the sprays won't be tolerated and it's unnecessary and tell him to just play footy.
All that needs to be done in the first instance, if it happens again, sure, have a 10 minute spell to think about your wrongdoing but FGS, it was a trial and this particular umpire now believes he is bigger than 'Ben Hur'

Broadview kicked 3-8 to 0-0 in the 1st, could've iced the game if they kicked straight

Moz, funny about that, you've picked him in one, well done! Is it that obvious?
