Eastern were playing at home, it was a second trial for them and they had some pretty handy additions to their squad as they are making a big push to get into A1's next season. Not sure how close they were to their strongest team, but Freeling were at least 6 first choice A graders short.
19 goals to 11 with Freeling winning the second half was quite a reasonable first up effort.
As far as comparing league goes ,well you had a team that hasnt won a game for 2 years up against a top A2 team, having a serious crack at making A1's. Nothings changed, as I have said before. Top BLG clubs would be about lower end A1's with the others varying anywhere between A2 and A3 standard depending on the year. Then again it was only a trial. EP have definetely got their share of loose cannons but should do well.

did freeling have their arsenal of imports playing?

Is that Nigel James that was at Norwood last year? I understand he had suffered a pretty bad injury? how has he

recovered?

Yeah thats the one, had an op about 3 months ago and has recovered well

Will be a good opportunity to see how the Donnybrooks have shaped over the pre-season, after some recent September talk already coming out of the Donny camp.
Might have a beer with ya Pinchy!

Only september talk coming out the DB camp would be that of footy trips.
25 Billies wont make for very entertaining footy , so i will make sure the beers are cold osama

I'll take that bait... The blg competition is more enjoyable than the parkland bullshit of the amature league. Trying to compare suburban trash to country footy is futile, Junior, netball, football competitions all on the same day is something the SAAFL will never have. So who cares if the SAAFL has a bigger talent pool and more ex SANFL players it doesn't have the atmostphere and history that BLG gets to enjoy year in year out and never will.

For someone who has no time for the BL&G you seem to spend a fair amount of it posting on our web-link No Mercy,
It is becoming increasingly clear that you are either horiffically dense or burdened with the toe of a camel in the front of your pants.
Obviously you have become bored with the sterility that is the amateur league......Yawn.......

If your running with BEEGRADERS tip Lads, you will be doing yourself a few bucks.
Think you may find GC will be close to the foot of the table after a decade of preliminary finals losses.

yep footy on the left - skirt on the right an option the envy of any red blooded football fan. wash a few beers down watching the footy and at half time grab a sausage and head over to watch the netball, usually only need 5 minutes to put a smile on your face!!

Noone I've spoken to says that Gawler Central will finish top 4, more likely bottom 3 with their losses Selective reading I reckon

Yeah he's going Ok, will pull on the boots for the first time tomorrow. Mal Meninga is a good analogy actually as he'll lead from the front. Will expect players to put their head over it and is not one to tolerate fools from what I've seen so far. Looking forward to seeing he and Leske in the same midfield. Hoping to add another mid into the mix with some options in the pipeline.

Malcom Mugabe of the blg with a 100K at his disposal would want to be setting the legs sights on the top four and not be selling the good people of Freeling down the 'lets be competitive' culture just to get himself and his mates another season of easy living.

All i can say is Maniga cockle better get some results this season for legs because they threw out a guy who was prepared to take the hits and stay positive for the next gen, i will expect to see an uprising if Mugabe cant repeat the efforts of Leal and take the legs from bottom to top in 1 season?

ango vs willaston trial was interesting yesterday

ended as a draw, but i think angaston had 13 missing from their grand final side and willaston were at full strength. this would confirm most peoples predictions of tanunda and angaston way in front of the rest of the comp.
ango did pick up quite a few injuries tho.

Yes indeded daysof, Ango will give the magpies a run for their money in 2010 were missing bennett, the pech's, klemm, reimann, bain, harvey, doeke, white the rest wont make their A Grade if even still at the club. Rolled up with 2 sides and another 13 out is good signs panthers might just get the colours reversed on the chimney this year.

Maybe selling the Donny's a little short there Daisy and Pinchy. Sounds like something out of the Seelander text book.
More than happy to review your membership applications to get on the 2010 gravy train.
Donny's were missing the Baker Boy and held back parading Tossold.

NM
You have a short memory
Firstly i agree trials between different leauges dont give you a true indication
But i do remember Seaton coming up to the Barossa to take on Barossa Districts
Good trial but Seaton were over ran in last half
Barossa also ventured down to Salisbury North with 1/2 a team and got over the line as well
Barossa that year would have finished top 3 in A2
