Wouldn't worry too much about all this talk about Jack Freestone on here guys. He is a very good local junior, who is having a crack at Sturt (played 5-6 games last year) & looks likely to give it a real shot, but if it doesn't work out WILL play at Mypo. All this C@#p on here is all a bit silly really

Have heard Wallfried is not going back out to Magpies, any truth? And does this mean his brothers wont be playing also?

I wouldn't say an agreement no real choice in the matter, the guy is having a kid and gettin married and decided that his family needed to come first sooo couldn't afford to travel to karoonda and murray bridge for trainings and game days and wanted to play closer to his new young family which will be arriving soon. Karoonda wouldn't clear him as they said he had a 2 year deal. under the circumstances not a great outcome!

im not too sure if id completely agree with you lads there, but wallfried may hav got himself into a pickle by signing more than 1 yr contracts as mypo has to pay kangarilla out, then karoonda had to pay mypo out! therefore until he fulfills a contract or pays it out himself to the club he unfortunately doesnt hav too much of a choice!

i think playing in karoonda will be good for wallfried..knowing the bloke well i reckon it will be good for him to hit the road and play a game of footy out of adelaide every week...although there are many who will disagree..i just reckon being able to clear the mind away from adelaide will do him the world of good

Knowing the kid very very well and having caught up with him recently, he just wants to concentrate on his new family and play footy closer to home. He doesnt want to travel, its not going to do him any better at all. He doesnt have the urge to play that far away this year. I know he may have had a 2 year deal or whateva but everyone knows that family comes first and alot can happen in just one year and because hes going to be a dad, playing closer to home will be beta for him and his partner.

I say good on Karoonda for standing their ground!!
As KnightDragon said, you cant go around signing 2 year contracts every year & expect YOUR NEXT YEARS CLUB  to bail you out.
This guy has a history & has had 4 clubs in 4 years & now wants to make it 5.
Now I understand that Family comes first, but when are these mercinaries (spelling) going to be put in their place. For once he has a good reason for moving on, but I can completely understand why Karoonda are doing what they are doing

he has the full support of the team being coaching staff and players and if any family matter does come up, i think there wont be any real anger putting family first as any good person would...

I dont and never have said that Karoonda are a hole of a club, ive been out to watch a few games and all have been played to a good standard. All im saying is that knowing Shimmer really well, hes not going to be any help to the side or the club if he doesnt want to be there..even he has said that. Im not having a go, really im not im just expressing what ive been told and warning people that his family is going to come first and that he doesnt want to travel this year.
