Round 1 - Glenelg v Norwood @ Glenelg 27/3 4.10pm

sat 27th

well i'd suggest the bays will win basically because we have more goal scoring options, i'm sure the hound will be praying for taylor walker to be in his team which then would give norwood a big chance, bays have a great record at home in recent years....bays by 4 goals

Bays to thrash Norwood - they are still smarting after last years straight sets finals defeats and will easily account for substandard oppostion in round 1

"Substandard" was probably a little bit cruel. I should have said "below par" or something similar.

I've predicted on another thread that Norwood will contest a Grand Final within the next three years  but 2010 will not be one of them.

League. I fully rate Bassett as a shrewd campaigner and think he will work wonders in the role he has been given.

50-50 at this stage for mine ... although there was an amusing conversation with Bassett at the lemon time huddle at Alberton yesterday.

Let's say he has a tad more research to do before Saturday.

A bit strange that they are on the website now. Usually they get released thursday afternoons if we are lucky.

I think most clubs usually submit their teams to the SANFL and the Advertiser after wednesday night training.

weird that only one team (of 23) is up on the website, and it is Wed night for a Saturday twilight game?

Usually I thought squads/teams were out Thursday nights - named/placed for a Friday night game, and a squad for weekend games? For example, 5RPH sometimes dont even have the teams on their Thursday night show because clubs haven't submitted them.

I wouldn't read too much into it, I think the "team selection meeting" has only just finished.

I know we have had some bad leaks at the Bay in the past, but even before the meeting finishes? That's full on.

OK, I've got to the bottom of this...

All SANFL teams had to submit squads today so the Advertiser can publish them tomorrow - because AFL is on tomorrow night and the Advertiser only want to publish the teams all together for AFL and SANFL. The same scenario will happen again next week due to Easter.

So the new mystery is - why have the SANFL only published one team, and not 8 teams?
